Film study disney vs studio ghibli
1.
2. The studio was founded after the success of the 1984 film
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, written and directed by
Miyazaki for Top craft and distributed by Tōei. The origins of the
film lie in the first two volumes of a serialized manga written by
Miyazaki for publication in Animage as a way of generating
interest in an anime version. Suzuki was part of the production
team on the film and founded Studio Ghibli with Miyazaki, who
also invited Takahata to join the new studio.
The studio has mainly produced films by Miyazaki, with the
second most prolific director being Takahata (most notably with
Grave of the Fireflies). Other directors who have worked with
Studio Ghibli include Yoshifumi Kondo, Hiroyuki Morita and
Gorō Miyazaki. Composer Joe Hisaishi has provided the
soundtrack for all of Miyazaki's Studio Ghibli films.
Many of Ghibli's works are distributed in Japan by Toho.
Internationally, The Walt Disney Company has rights to all of
Ghibli's output that did not have previous international
distribution, including the global, non-Japan distribution rights to
Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away. citation needed] As of
September 7, they currently share North American theatrical
rights with GKids while domestic right remain with Disney.

Disney, is an American multinational diversified mass media company
headquartered in Walt Disney Studios, Burbank, California, United

revenue. Founded on October 16, 1923, by Walt and Roy Disney as the
Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, Walt Disney Productions established
itself as a leader in the American animation industry before
diversifying into live-action film production, television, and travel.
Taking on its current name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company
expanded its existing operations and also started divisions focused
upon theatre, radio, music, publishing, and online media. In addition, it
has created new divisions of the company in order to market more
mature content than it typically associates with its flagship family-
oriented brands.

5. A lion prince, Simba, is born in Africa and the animals of the Pride Lands pay tribute.
Later Simba is told by his father, King Mufasa, that when Mufasa dies, Simba will
become King of the Pride Lands. Simba's Uncle Scar would have been king after
Musafa had Mufasa not had a child. Fuelled by rage, Scar plots to kill Mufasa and
Simba so he is able to take over the throne. He uses the hyenas to cause a stampede
through the canyon where Mufasa and Simba are, and personally ensures Mufasa falls
to his death. Simba survives so Scar implies that the stampede was Simba's fault and
that the pride will blame him. Simba flees the Pride Lands meaning never to return
home. Simba is found, collapsed with exhaustion, by Timone the Meerkat, and
Pummba the Warthog, and the trio become fast friends. Simba stays with them well
into adulthood until his childhood friend, Nala, hunting beyond the Pride Lands that
herds had deserted under Scar's mismanagement stumbles upon Simba's new home.
Astonished to find him alive, she begs him to return to the Pride Lands, where Scar
has reigned as King for years, and ruined everything. All of the animals will starve if
Simba does not return. Simba eventually agrees to fight for his kingdom. Simba
battles Scar, and learns his father's death was Scar's fault, not his own. Simba prevails
and, in time, has his own son, mirroring "The Circle of Life.
6. The story begins as Chihiro and her parents take a wrong turn down a dirt path while
traveling to their new home in the country side. They discover a tunnel at the bottom
of the path which leads them into an old abandoned theme park. While Chihiro and
her parents explore the place they come across a place full of restraunts filled with all
different kinds of delicious foods. Chihiro's parents then start helping themselves to
some food. As Chihiro leaves her parents and starts exploring the place herself she
comes upon a bridge only to be found by a boy named Haku. The boy then tells
Chihiro that she must leave before nightfall. She then runs off to find her parents only
to find them as pigs. Chihiro gets scared and runs off to the river only to find it full of
water. She then runs off and hides, Haku then comes looking for Chihiro promising
her that he will help her save her parents but the only way was for Chihiro to get a job
in the bathhouse for the Gods and spirits of Japan.
7. This film was directed and written by Hayao Miyazaki, this film straight from the beginning had an imaginative feeling to it. The
director had made previous similar films which were Nausicaa, Laputa and many more. The main character of this film was
Chiriro who was a 10 year old child, where the audience was aimed for young ones but acceded all the way to all age groups. The
Spirited away was very similar the Disney film Lion King, the reason I say this is because they both get into a lot of trouble
where they see their parents get hurt and that they need to put things right. This film was more dangerous than the Lion |King
because the Spirited away contains a world of magic and gods where in Disney films they only make the bady be evil a little bit
and this is because they make everyone feel sympathy to them where in the Studio ghibli the audience wants something bad to
happen to the gods and witches. When chihiro finally gets the job of Yubaba she is sent to the owner of the store which is a witch.
She makes the little girl sign a contract where if she fails to do any work they will eat her parents, also her named changed to Sin.
This is comparable with the Lion King because Simba has to get his pride back and he gets put in to challenges which he must
face and he has to find his uncle Scar and beat him. The Spirited away is very different from Disney because from the beginning
to the end its all adventure and mystery this means that the film is unpredictable where in Disney films everyone can predict and
expect the same thing to happen all the time. The film has a different feel to it than the Disney films because in Disney uses
modern structures in their films where the other one uses and feels like a traditional Japanese film, this is because they make the
characters look Japanese with their eyes. Also the film uses Japanese animators which helps as they look more Asian. Another
way is that they use Japanese music and graphics, with mystery songs when gods walk in or when the entertainment gets more
interesting.
Overall in my opinion I think that the Disney is a better choice because it contains more ranges of films, Disney land Paris, where
Studio ghibli only has a website people can look at. Most people will enjoy Disney films more because they grew up watching
these films where most people don’t even know about the Spirited away.
