From binaries (ubuntu)
sudo aptitude install add-apt-repository
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otb/orfeotoolbox-stable
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude install otbapp

tar xvf OrfeoToolbox-3.10.0.tgz
mkdir OTB_CMK
cd OTB_CMK
ccmake ../OrfeoToolbox
Follow instructions from the OTB software guide
Make && make install

tar xvf Monteverdi-1.8.0.tgz
mkdir MV_CMK
ccmake ../Monteverdi
make && make install orfeo-toolbox.org
