This document discusses augmented reality and provides examples of its applications. It begins with definitions and components of augmented reality. Then it describes two use cases at the Open University of Catalonia: one involving landscape tourism and another explaining how to study at UOC. Several potential opportunities for augmented reality applications are outlined across different domains like landscape, traveling, education, arts, and marketing. The document concludes with brainstorming ideas and a practical introduction to different augmented reality platforms.
The aim of this presentation is to share the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya digital strategy implementation process. We present our digital strategy map as well as our simultaneous participation on big digital projects worldwide such as Google Art project, Europeana, Wikipedia. All intended to the same aim: make museum content as available as possible, engage audiences, encourage participation and co-creation, inspire quality experiences, facilitate open content. Beyond digitisation, social media, mobile and all the other efforts to reach audiences.

This is a small talk on an Educational experience at the Open University of Catalonia regarding the use of an iPad in order to improve the user learning experience.
The objective of UP-TO-US is to create a prototype of platform that allows the personalization of IPTV services through the adaptation of contents to the user context and their preferences, for the whole european union. UP-TO-US is an european project with a big consortium that studies the potentialities of IPTV for entertainment, business, education, etc. The project will finish by February, 2013 and the UOC is participating through the desing and testing of use cases of IPTV for e-learning.
Organized by Fab Lab Zagreb during the Croatia #STEAM Week, this lecture + workshop aims to open the mind and inspire Croatia teachers from formal K12 education through a hands on distributed and active learning activity. The main objective was to understand the process, tools and framework for prototyping #steam and maker-centered learning projects.
We will accompany and train the trainers so they can learn and develop key digital skills and competencies and facilitate the transition to educational communities to become digital social innovators who respond to the challenges posed by Sustainable Development Goals (ODS 11, Cities and sustainable communities).
AVATAR is a two year European Multilateral project under the Lifelong learning programme 2007-2013, Sub programme Comenius aimed at teaching secondary school teacher to use virtual worlds in education.
AVATAR multi-actors include seven organizations from six EU countries: (Coordinator) Consorzio FOR.COM (Italy), FH Joanneum University of Applied Sciences (Austria), Burgas Free University (Bulgaria), University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), Universidad Nacional de Educaciòn a Distancia (Spain), University of Hertfordshire Higher Education Corporation (UK), SOPHia In Action Consulting (Italy)

The UOC, the Xarxa de Punt TIC de les Terres de l’Ebre, the associació ATICTES and the IES de l’Ebre organized last February at Tortosa, a new edition of the Jornada de Programari Lliure de les Terres de l’Ebre (Conferences about Open Source). This year was about Android and applications developed for this system.
Two members of the UOC iCommunity: Raul Romero and Pepe Mora participated on 23 February 2012 at the full day academic seminar, along with Marc Saez from Ebreandroid and Tomàs Gonzalez from Tarracodroid. This conference was held at the headquarters of the UOC in Tortosa (C / Alfara Charles, 18) and discuss the possibilities and the development of Android, ending with the presentation of the first application for Android made by UOC : UOCMail.
