3. 1 – I like the style of this magazine. It is different from others that are out at the minute,
using pale pinks blues for the text with the main image set against a dark background.
2 – This second magazine is much different against a bright green background, mixing well
with the bright yellows and pinks used for the text.
3- This third magazine is quite stereotypical of front covers of this genre. It is a plain white
background with the image in the middle and text surrounding it on both sides in neat
columns. The text is in purples and pinks as it is aimed at a female audience.
4 – I like the bright cover of this magazine as I feel it is eye catching and draws the viewers
attention. The main image is set against a sky blue background and the models wear bright
coloured clothes. The text is still clear to read and again is shown on both sides of the page.
5- This is again the stereotypical type of magazine with the white background and model in
the middle. It is the same magazine as number 3, however it is aimed at a different gender
therefore instead of the purple and pinks they have gone for reds and greys.

5. Contents Pages
1- I like how this contents page uses a lot of images, this means its not fully dependant
on the text to interest the reader. Its text is in black and read which stands out well
against the white background. The text is also separated nicely from the images by a
boarder running between them.
2 - This second contents page is a little more complicated with a lot more text set out in
a different order. There is text over all sections of the page which makes it harder to
follow. It is also aimed more at a male audience and the text colours are blue and black
against the white background.
3 – I think that something like this one will work best for the type of magazine I am
creating. There is a simple mast head along the top and the text is set out in easy to read
columns in bright colours. There are also relevant images on the page which make it
more interesting.
7. Double Page Spreads
1 – These pages have a lot of text on them which is what my magazine is going to have as my
articles are quite long and informative, however it works well as it is broken up by images
and pull quotes. It is also set out very neatly in easy to follow and read articles. The colours
on this magazine are quite dull however, so I intend to brighten mine up a little given its
genre.
2 – This second double page spread is broken down into much smaller sections than the
first. It also uses more colours to make it more interesting for the reader. These are pale
greens and blues which go well with the white background.
The image is on the right hand side and is simple and doesn’t take away from the text.
3 – This one has a full page with just an image on it, and the other has the article. This way
the reader doesn’t have that much to read. I won’t be using this style as I have more text so
need more space to place it all without it getting complicated. I do however like that they
have used colour to make it more appealing on the eye.
