4. The Hanging Gardens are located on the East bank of the Euphrates River. The Gardens were built by Nebuchadnezzar II to please his wife. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are considered to be one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They were built in the ancient city-state of Babylon, near present-day Al Hillah, Babil, in Iraq. 5. The Temple of Artemis. The Temple of Artemis is located in the town of Selcuk. The Temple was built in honor of the Greek godess of hunting and wild nature. The Temple of Artemis also known less precisely as the Temple of Diana, was a Greek temple dedicated to a goddess Greeks identified as Artemis.
6. The Statue of Zues at Olympia The Statue of Zues is located at the town of Olympia. Here the Olympic Games were held. Athletes came to celebrate the Olympics and worship the king of the gods: Zues.
7. The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus The Mausoleum is located in the city of Bodrum. The Mausoleum was completed around 350 BC. It is also the tomb of king Maussollos. The structure was designed by the Greek architects Satyros and Pythis. It stood approximately 45 m (148 ft) in height, and each of the four sides was adorned with sculptural reliefs created by each one of four Greek sculptors — Leochares, Bryaxis, Scopas of Paros and Timotheus. The finished structure was considered to be such an aesthetic triumph that Antipater of Sidon identified it as one of his Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
8. The Colossus of RhodesThe Colossus is located at the entrance of the harbor of Rhodes in Greece. The Colossus is a statue of the sun god, Helios. It was a symbol of unity of the people who inhabited the beautiful island-Rhodes.
9. TheLighthouseof Alexandria The Lighthouse is located in the city of Alexandria in Egypt. It ensured a safe return to the Great Harbor. The Lighthouse was the tallest building on Earth and had a mirror whose reflection could be seen more than 50 km off shore.
