The Three Pots ~ A Story with Morals (English and Malay).pptx

OH TEIK BIN
OH TEIK BINTeacher um My own sweet home!

Once there lived a pot maker named Murari in a village called Mahadeva.
He made new pots and sold them in the market. With his earnings he could
manage to raise his family. He had three older pots for the family use in his
home.
One day the three pots were talking to each other.
The first pot said, “Friends, we have been friends like this for a very long time.
3
I wish from my whole heart for we three to live together like this forever.”
“I wish the same, my dear friends,” the second pot said.
“But I don't wish to live here anymore,” the third pot said unhappily.
“How long should we stay here in a poor family like this? I wish
someone rich would take me away from here.”
4
When the three pots were talking to each other, a rich man arrived at
the pot maker’s home.
“Listen, pot maker,” the rich man said, “I want one nice good pot.”
“See sir, I don't have good pots or bad pots. All the pots are good,”
the pot maker said. “Whichever you want, you can take it, sir please. I
don't mind,” the pot maker told the rich man.
5
“I don't want a new pot but I want an old one,” the rich man
declared.
“Old one?” the pot maker was puzzled. “But sir, I have all new pots
except the three old pots which I am already using.”
“Whatever it is, I want an old pot,” the rich man was firm with his
words.
“Saya tidak mahu periuk baru tetapi saya mahu periuk lama,” kata orang
kaya itu."Yang lama?" pembuat periuk itu hairan. "Tetapi tuan, saya
kata-katanya.
6
Murari had no choice but to show the rich man the three pots in
his house.
The rich man chose the third pot. Upon hearing the rich man’s
choice, the third pot said to the other two pots, “Look, my wish is
fulfilled. I am going with a rich man.”
Saying this, the third pot felt very happy.
Sambil berkata demikian, periuk ketiga berasa sangat gembira.

7
The rich man paid money to Murari for the pot and took the pot home.
The third pot felt very excited and happy to be at the rich man’s home.
Days went by at the rich man’s home. One day when the owner was
filling the water in the pot, he noticed the pot had broken from the top
part.
8
“Oh,” the rich man cried. “I bought this old pot thinking it would be stronger
compared to the new pots. But look at this! The pot is broken now. It is of no
use to me now. I should throw it away!”
So, the rich man took the broken pot away from his house and threw it at the
road side.
The pot felt so sad. “Oh, no!” the pot cried sadly. “What should I do now? The
rich man has left me abandoned.
kuat berbanding periuk baharu. Tetapi lihat ini! Periuk sudah pecah sekarang. Ia
tidak berguna untuk saya sekarang. Saya patut membuangnya!”Jadi, orang kaya
jalan. Periuk itu berasa sangat sedih. "Oh tidak!" periuk itu menangis sedih. “Apa
yang patut saya buat sekarang? Orang kaya itu telah meninggalkan saya terbiar.
9
I was happy with my friends but now I have no one to be called as my friend.”
Just then, an old man was passing by. He saw the pot, lifted it up, intending to
bring it home.
While the old man was walking towards his home, the pot thought in his mind,
“Where would the old man be taking me to… a broken pot like me?”
seperti saya?"
10
When the old man reached his home, he filled the pot with water and regularly
drank the water happily.
The pot asked the old man, “Sir, I am broken and I don’t look good … why did
you bring me home? You could have bought a new one for yourself.”
“Ah,” the old man explained, “I can’t afford to buy a new pot. Even though you
are broken at the top, you are serving me so well, satisfying my thirst.”
saya.”
11
The old man continued, “One’s physical appearance does not matter as long as
he proves himself beneficial and of service to others. My dear pot, remember
this, ok?”
“You are absolutely right, sir. I was wrong,” the pot said, feeling happy. “I
always thought staying with the rich man would increase my value but the truth
is that it doesn't matter where we are. It's important how much we can benefit
others.”
The pot learnt an important life lesson. He started to live happily in
contentment.
After a few days, the old man brought home two more pots … the friends of the
third broken pot.
The broken pot was most happy to see his two old friends.
“My dear friends,” the third pot asked, “how come both of you are here?”
Periuk itu belajar pelajaran hidup yang penting. Dia mula hidup bahagia dalam
redha. Selepas beberapa hari, lelaki tua itu membawa pulang dua periuk lagi …
kawan-kawan kepada peruik ketiga yang pecah itu. Periuk ketiga paling gembira
melihat dua orang kawan lamanya. “Kawan-kawanku yang dikasihi,” periuk ketiga
bertanya, “Bagaimana kamu berdua ada di sini?”
12
The first pot explained, “We, because of age, got scratches on us. Our
owner discarded us at the roadside. This kind old man brought us here,
his home.”
Meanwhile, the old man got two plants and put them in both the pots
and he watered them every day using the third pot.
Periuk pertama menjelaskan, “Kami, kerana usia, mendapat calar pada
kami.
13
The first pot told his friend, the broken pot, “Friend, you wanted to go with the rich man
to be happy but finally it is the poor old man who made you realize you are still beneficial
when the rest of the people thought you are useless. This is also true for the two of us.
Now we all three understand that physical appearance is not what matters most but what
we can do for others whoever they are. This makes us happy.”
From then onwards the three friends lived happily with the old man rendering whatever
services they could.
walau apa pun mereka.

  • 7. 7 The rich man paid money to Murari for the pot and took the pot home. The third pot felt very excited and happy to be at the rich man’s home. Days went by at the rich man’s home. One day when the owner was filling the water in the pot, he noticed the pot had broken from the top part.
  • 8. 8 “Oh,” the rich man cried. “I bought this old pot thinking it would be stronger compared to the new pots. But look at this! The pot is broken now. It is of no use to me now. I should throw it away!” So, the rich man took the broken pot away from his house and threw it at the road side. The pot felt so sad. “Oh, no!” the pot cried sadly. “What should I do now? The rich man has left me abandoned.
  • 9. 9 I was happy with my friends but now I have no one to be called as my friend.” Just then, an old man was passing by. He saw the pot, lifted it up, intending to bring it home. While the old man was walking towards his home, the pot thought in his mind, “Where would the old man be taking me to… a broken pot like me?”
  • 10. 10 When the old man reached his home, he filled the pot with water and regularly drank the water happily. The pot asked the old man, “Sir, I am broken and I don’t look good … why did you bring me home? You could have bought a new one for yourself.” “Ah,” the old man explained, “I can’t afford to buy a new pot. Even though you are broken at the top, you are serving me so well, satisfying my thirst.”
  • 11. 11 The old man continued, “One’s physical appearance does not matter as long as he proves himself beneficial and of service to others. My dear pot, remember this, ok?” “You are absolutely right, sir. I was wrong,” the pot said, feeling happy. “I always thought staying with the rich man would increase my value but the truth is that it doesn't matter where we are. It's important how much we can benefit others.”
  • 12. The pot learnt an important life lesson. He started to live happily in contentment. After a few days, the old man brought home two more pots … the friends of the third broken pot. The broken pot was most happy to see his two old friends. “My dear friends,” the third pot asked, “how come both of you are here?”
  • 13. The first pot explained, “We, because of age, got scratches on us. Our owner discarded us at the roadside. This kind old man brought us here, his home.” Meanwhile, the old man got two plants and put them in both the pots and he watered them every day using the third pot. 13
  • 14. The first pot told his friend, the broken pot, “Friend, you wanted to go with the rich man to be happy but finally it is the poor old man who made you realize you are still beneficial when the rest of the people thought you are useless. This is also true for the two of us. Now we all three understand that physical appearance is not what matters most but what we can do for others whoever they are. This makes us happy.” From then onwards the three friends lived happily with the old man rendering whatever services they could. 1st Pot 3rd Pot 2nd Pot 14
