Synthesis Essay On Climate Change
It is terrible that climate change has affected every country. As a result, one key information that we
think will help us make a better analysis will be each country's progress in dealing with the issue.
This information can be found in recent news and articles that give detail reports on the topic. One
can also learn more from scientific documents written by ecologists that currently research on
climate change. Moreover, one can monitor the daily temperature of a specific season, summer for
instance, in the countries for a few years. From this point, one can calculate the average temperature
per summer and see which country had the most increase or decrease in terms of these average
temperatures. The country that experiences the least increase

A Critical Analysis And Synthesis
A critical analysis and synthesis of how radiographer's can optimise the use of social media,
ensuring they do not breach the relevant standards of the HCPC Code of Conduct Performance
and Ethics (2016). In the modern and technological society which we live in today social media
plays an integral part in everyday life. Social media is an online tool which allows people to
communicate, share data and form groups with others sharing common interests. On social
media platforms users can forms virtual communities or networks exchanging information.
(Kaplan and Haenlein, 2010). Social media has become such a big part of life that the term
'Facebook addict' has been introduced into the urban dictionary. The use of social media is
widespread and ever increasing, at the beginning of the 3rd quarter of 2016 there is 1.79 billion
active Facebook users and 2.34 billion social media users across all platforms (Statista, 2016).
This trend can also be seen in healthcare professionals and will increase as younger practioners
join the workforce. A survey in 2011 by the Medical Protection society found that 36% of doctors
used Facebook on a daily basis and that 100% of medical students have Facebook accounts with
Ofcom reporting that 80 % of adults in the UK has some sort of social medial account. The main
use of social media in everyday life is for personal use meaning that many radiographers are
unfamiliar with using social media as a professional tool. With this in mind

Collaboration And Synthesis Essay
At first glance, I was skeptical. How could creativity be cultivated? As I delved into the process,
analyzing deeper beyond what does creativity actually mean, I became a believer.
"Educators invested in building creative skills risk lowering test scores and jeopardize the jobs
they have dedicated their lives to." This quote caught my eye since test scores continue to be a
driving force in education. Teachers are continually prodded to make gains and document growth. If
this is in the back of the minds of teachers, how can creativity evolve in the classroom? First, the
authors define the seven virtues of creativity:
Curiousity
Versatility
Synthesis
Discipline
Collaboration
Experimentation
Tenacity
After looking at this list, I noticed

1. Analyses And Synthesis The student I chose to base my case study on is a 3rd grade student at
an elementary school. For the purpose of this case study, we will call the student Darnell. Darnell is
an 8–year–old African American male diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Darnell is the youngest
child; he has another sibling, an older sister who is in the 4th grade. She has not posed any form of
learning or intellectual disability. Darnell's father is a 32–year–old engineer and is divorced from
Darnell's mother who shares joint custody of both children. As we all know parents play a large role
throughout their child's various stages of life and development. To better understand Darnell an
interview was conducted with Darnell's father....show more content...
During the examination Darnell's father was able to explain to the doctor the concerns he had
regarding his son. He explained that Darnell social interaction was none existent, he did not play
with other children or even his sister. Darnell preferred playing alone in a corner and had become
fixated on one specific toy. When he would play, he focused primarily on one toy even though he
had a toy chest filled with other toys. 2. Diagnosis Darnell showed early signs of unusual behaviors
that were a cause for concern from his father had. At 18 months Darnell avoided making eye contact
with both his parents coupled with not responding to his name when he was called. Darnell's father
expressed his concerns to Darnell's mother who did not agree with his concerns; she simply stated
that Darnell would catch up along with other children his age. As a result of the couples split Darnell
was not given full attention in the matter of his disability, until his father took the initiative to seek
help. Darnell's father sought further assistance by having Darnell evaluated by a specialist in
learning disabilities such as a developmental pediatrician. This doctor concluded that Darnell had
indeed been autistic and ordered for a diagnostic evaluation. This evaluation

Critique Of Research Synthesis Essay
The author maintains that observational centered method of studying is not accurate, rather
interview centered method bears more accurate result of study. The argument, stated in a dubious
way, fails to mentions some key factors and reveals some instances of poor reasoning, on the basis
of which it could be evaluated. However, in order to fully evaluate this we need to have significant
amount of additional evidences. The argument is much weaker than it seems. First of all, Dr. Karp's
assumption is based on 20 years ago study which might not be true in the present situation. Over the
passage of time, surrounding of the village might have changed significantly. For example, some
westerners had settled on that village and might have influenced them to change their common trend.
Hence, it would certainly weakened Dr. Karp's assumption. In this case his study could have been
correct but his assumptions on the view of Dr. Fields method would be seriously weakened. Another
piece of evidence...show more content...
For example W why did they say about their parent? Additionally, we also don't about the responses
of the children for that questions. It would completely undermine Dr Kelps argument if it turned out
that the children said how much they miss their parents or how their parents left them for in
communal environment. Therefore, its impossible to conclude without knowing their true response
to the questions. So without convincing answers, the reader is left with the impressions that the
claims made by the author are more of a wishful thinking rather than substantive evidence. Clearly,
from above discussion, we can conclude that we need more evidence about surrounding of the
village as well as the type of questionnaires asked during the interview or else the author's argument
can't be granted as correct

Synthesis Prewriting The two essays that I choose for the synthesis essay are Parkinson's Alley by
Joy Horowitz and The Environmental Issue from Hell: Global Warming Is the Great Moral Crisis
of Our Time by Bill Mckibben. Parkinson's Alley is about residents in California's Central Valley
town of Visalia who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's. This part of California has the highest
number of people diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease. The pesticides that are used in the
surrounding farms seeps into the water that the residents use every day, causing them to get the
disease. The Environmental Issue from Hell: Global Warming Is the Great Moral Crisis of Our Time

Analysis, Evaluation, And Synthesis
The theme of this paper is expanding the analysis, evaluation, and synthesis to provide the best
solution for the disaster recovery issue through identification of the issue's scope, scale, effect, and so
forth, considering various company organization structures. The overriding critical IT issue facing
the Fox Television network and cable affiliates is disaster recovery. The result of a natural disaster
may halt network operations, which will result in a revenue shortfall for outage duration. Many may
consider that the exploration of the television distribution systems is not related to traditional IT
components. However, many elements of the traditional television distribution facility are changing
to using IT components, and the identification and analysis methods use a similar analysis approach.
This paper's content will concentrate on the issue of exploring how to move the network to an
alternative distribution location.
Problem Resolution Approach
Indicated in Figure one is a model for solving problems or issues. This model contains six
repeatable steps including 1) define the problem, 2) determine the issues root–cause, 3) develop
alternative solutions, 4) select a solution, 5) implement the solution, and 6) evaluate the outcome.

Argumentative Synthesis
Education can be defined by how we as humans learn to interact with one another as well as
obtaining the skills and perspectives needed to reach our full potential later in life. While education
may seem straight forward, there are many ideas as to how it should be successfully presented. The
authors, Pratt, Rodriguez, and Freire, all share my belief that educational freedom is vital to a
positive classroom experience. Throughout this essay, I will be using their ideas to support why the
system of education requires radical reformation. Richard Rodriguez was the son of Hispanic
working class parents during the 1940's. From a very young age he was fascinated by books. He
would go out of his way to isolate himself from his family in order to read. Throughout his life,
Rodriguez maintained his practice of isolation from his family and peers. At the end of his
schooling, he discovered the error in his ways. While reading a passage from Hoggart's The Uses
of Literacy, Rodriguez found himself in the definition of a "scholarship boy." "The scholarship boy
is a very bad student. He is the great mimic; a collector of thoughts, not a thinker; the very last
person in class who ever feels obliged to have an opinion of his own." (Rodriguez 352) Throughout
his entire academic career, he had mimicked his instructors rather than forming his own opinion.
Without these skills, Rodriguez became immediately aware of his "miseducation." While

According to the April 2016 article, Worldwide Children Statistics, there is estimated to be 140
million children who are orphans. The article also states that children represent almost half of the
people living in extreme poverty. Because of this information people struggle with the idea that
adoption is hard, and anyone can easily understand why. Adoption isn't necessarily a talked about
issue on the news, magazines, or on social media, so who's to blame if no one knows that less
children and young teens are being adoptive each year, or that according to the CDC's (Center for
Disease and Control Prevention) March 2017 article, that there are 15 abortions per 1,000 women
ages 15–44 per year. There are several common protocols that occur when trying to adopt. Family

$40,000, or even more that year. According to The Child Welfare Information Gateway states the
facts that an average U.S. adoption costs between $8,000–$40,000. If you plan on adopting a child
from another country, then the costs range from $15,000–$30,000. If you plan on adopting through a
foster care where the average age of a child is 9 years old, this generally involves you becoming a

deeper understanding of what they are going through. As a result it just created an effect that the
author was going for which was how one will now be able to picture the situation, without having
and prior experience to it. Besides the blind woman may not physically be able to see but that does
not mean that she will not have the knowledge about the basics of waltzing. Similarly Lopte also
brought up the point of how,"Detachment stands midway between two poles: at the end solipsism;
at the other wisdom" (439). The human mind will always allow room for doubts, giving us more

Abstract and Overview: The authors of this article studied the facets of metalingustics, specifically
morphology (word recognition) and phonology (awareness of word sounds). In addition, the
authors emphasized the influences of stress on words and decoding. The article dissected the
results of a test done on third graders. The test required students to add or remove suffixes from
words, create new words by removing letters from current words, and to recognize words within
words. This process was an attempt to assess the influence of morphological and phonological
awareness on students' ability to read and recognize words. The test showed that metalinguistic skills

The ability to pronounce and understand words and phrases is foundational for all classroom
subjects, from math to social studies. If a student is unable to read at his or her age level, the
student will inevitably struggle to comprehend all areas of study. For teachers, assessing and
improving students' reading abilities is crucial to success in school and in life after graduation.
Rather than forcing students to fit into a mold of what they should be able to do, it would be
prudent for teachers to test each linguistic skill of students who struggle. Once the area of need has
been established, teachers can intervene to aid students in improving multilinguistics. This article
pinpoints the areas required for literacy and makes it easy to break down what students should be

used to do it, and to give us the ability to communicate competently about the ideas behind the

(Cozby & Bates, 2012).
Ethical and Legal Issues in Research I have learned that "what" the research finds isn't the only
thing that is important. We need to also be considered with "how" they went about finding it. The
treatment of the research participants is always a consideration when doing research. Beneficence is
the process of finding the most accurate results possible while ensuring fair treatment of the
participants (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Some steps taken to ensure proper treatment of
participants begin with informed consent. This ensures that those involved understand the all parts
of the research that may affect their decision to participate (Cozby & Bates, 2012). This does
not necessarily mean that there is full disclosure as that may interfere with accurate results.
Debriefing is helpful after the completion of the research to counteract any ill effects suffered
because of the research (Cozby & Bates, 2012). A safeguard in place to further protect
participants is the Institutional Review Board. This board is in place and responsible for the
research conditions taking place at their institution (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Another way to
protect participants is confidentiality. This can be achieved through anonymous questionnaires, or
coding of answers to protect privacy (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Protection doesn't only apply

approach gained significantly in word recognition.
Weaknesses of these articles are the date of which they were written. Both articles were written in

The companies that efficiently solve their projects issues and portfolio concerns will differentiate
themselves from their competition. The projects that companies work to complete with the many
different project methodologies demonstrate where the business is now, and the portfolio of projects
of the organization demonstrate where the organization is headed. To effectively manage the
tremendous number of projects that leaders face today in their organizations, they look to methods
and processes that aid them in effectively managing a group of projects. The method used to help in
this endeavor is Portfolio Project Management (PPM).

Portfolio board managers or project managers that have the responsibility of leading an organization
to their intended goals and objectives must perform an analysis of the current state or performance of
the organization, an analysis of the gaps between the current state and the intended state while
making the necessary adjustments and corrective actions (Morris & Pinto, 2007).
Project Portfolio
According to Morris and Pinto (2007) a project portfolio is comprised of a group of projects that
are supervised and managed based on the sponsorship of a particular department within the
company. The different projects within a portfolio will compete for scarce resources such as labor,
finances, and time. At the very top of a project–based organization is portfolio management, which
contains all of the projects within the organization. Those organizational projects are prioritized,
based on strategic global initiatives and business objectives. They are different from projects
assigned to project managers, as they must be aligned with strategic initiatives. Because projects
support several business objectives across many different lines of business within the organization,
oftentimes these projects are interrelated and are strategic.

Synthesis Essay: The Writing Process
Throughout the process of developing our own position, we must draw ideas from other people.
This process is called synthesis, as it involves considering various viewpoints in order to create a
new viewpoint. However, it is extremely important to know as much as possible about the topic.
The main point of synthesizing sources is to enter the conversation that society is having, with
logical evidence to back yourself up. But, when looking for reliable source, be aware of a bias that
the source might bring to the topic. A writer must analyze the rhetorical situation, even when it
comes to sources and documentation. As we further develop skills in writing synthesis essays, the
sources that we use will inform our position on the topic. Throughout the essay, the main event is
what we have to say, your position is central. As the writer, it is your job to analyze the sources you
come across, and to see which one appeals to the audience you are presenting to.
It is important to keep an open mind while reading sources, as every piece of evidence could be

That is why being able to use sources to inform an argument is crucial when writing any type of
essay. I am certain that being able to efficiently use my sources to appeal to an audience would also
be a contributing factor to whether or not I clearly state my position in my essay. However, it isn't
just important to have the evidence to back your claim up, you must also smoothly integrate it
throughout your essay. That is why I extremely appreciate the section on, "Integrating Quotations,"
that was given during this chapter. This chapter has given me a better understanding of what is
means to appropriately use sources throughout my essay. Evidence doesn't explain itself, it's the
author's job to make sure no stone gets left unturned when supporting your position with the sources

The contributions of the OD scholar–practitioners were down played by the author especially in the
conclusion. Bartunek's comments raised other issues that suggest further research opportunities.
Bartunek in her introduction pointed that, 'there is very little academic writing that emphasizes how
practice should inform theory" Bartunek (2008). The evidence provided in the article was more of
survey type as it had no experimental or control study. There was also no mention of any limitations
to the study. The paragraphs and assertions were well examples–supported. The author used reliable
resources in the development of the article as it is evidenced in the references provided. The
resources used were mostly peer–reviewed articles and journals written by Academics. In conclusion,
the dominant purpose of this article seems to be to convince the reader that the OD
practitioner–scholar has not used his position to bring the required change to the relationship that has
existed between theory and practice in organization development. Most of the evidences and
references were focused on achieving this aim. Considerations for other contributory factors were
noticeably lacking notably the contributions of Argyris and Schon, Bartunek (2008). References Jean

Anthropology And Synthesis Essay
There are many specific tools available to help understand evolutionary theory in a biology context,
but not for an archaeological context "Applications of evolutionary tools outside biology raise
methodological problems which have been largely ignored by philosophers of science." (Houkes
2010: 3) This has recently changed as archaeologists have started to manipulate these applications for
the use in an archaeological context "archaeologists and anthropologists have recently started using
phylogenetic analysis to reconstruct tool traditions." (Houkes 2010: 2) Through phylogenetics

human culture is phenotypic and cultural transmission is an inheritance system and a source of

relationships and evolutionary history among individuals or groups. This information is then

Molly has always been contemplative and not easily persuaded. This is a person who stands her

before, she had concerns about going down a long road of broken emotional commitments, as she
observed from others that sex can change relationship dynamics. This was valid and mature, not
childish. If she was going to have a change of heart, it should have happened gradually and not
under pressure or from bullying. She also should've been the one to tell her family she lost her

watched grow–up. Additionally irking me were repeat lines that had sex as an indicator of
womanhood, and Molly saying she could "get into" using handcuffs–because going from a virgin to
bondage is so realistic. The writers treated the whole thing like it was an item on a to–do list to be

Analysis And Synthesis Essay

  • 1. Synthesis Essay On Climate Change It is terrible that climate change has affected every country. As a result, one key information that we think will help us make a better analysis will be each country's progress in dealing with the issue. This information can be found in recent news and articles that give detail reports on the topic. One can also learn more from scientific documents written by ecologists that currently research on climate change. Moreover, one can monitor the daily temperature of a specific season, summer for instance, in the countries for a few years. From this point, one can calculate the average temperature per summer and see which country had the most increase or decrease in terms of these average temperatures. The country that experiences the least increase Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. A Critical Analysis And Synthesis A critical analysis and synthesis of how radiographer's can optimise the use of social media, ensuring they do not breach the relevant standards of the HCPC Code of Conduct Performance and Ethics (2016). In the modern and technological society which we live in today social media plays an integral part in everyday life. Social media is an online tool which allows people to communicate, share data and form groups with others sharing common interests. On social media platforms users can forms virtual communities or networks exchanging information. (Kaplan and Haenlein, 2010). Social media has become such a big part of life that the term 'Facebook addict' has been introduced into the urban dictionary. The use of social media is widespread and ever increasing, at the beginning of the 3rd quarter of 2016 there is 1.79 billion active Facebook users and 2.34 billion social media users across all platforms (Statista, 2016). This trend can also be seen in healthcare professionals and will increase as younger practioners join the workforce. A survey in 2011 by the Medical Protection society found that 36% of doctors used Facebook on a daily basis and that 100% of medical students have Facebook accounts with Ofcom reporting that 80 % of adults in the UK has some sort of social medial account. The main use of social media in everyday life is for personal use meaning that many radiographers are unfamiliar with using social media as a professional tool. With this in mind Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Collaboration And Synthesis Essay At first glance, I was skeptical. How could creativity be cultivated? As I delved into the process, analyzing deeper beyond what does creativity actually mean, I became a believer. "Educators invested in building creative skills risk lowering test scores and jeopardize the jobs they have dedicated their lives to." This quote caught my eye since test scores continue to be a driving force in education. Teachers are continually prodded to make gains and document growth. If this is in the back of the minds of teachers, how can creativity evolve in the classroom? First, the authors define the seven virtues of creativity: Curiousity Versatility Synthesis Discipline Collaboration Experimentation Tenacity After looking at this list, I noticed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. 1. Analyses And Synthesis The student I chose to base my case study on is a 3rd grade student at an elementary school. For the purpose of this case study, we will call the student Darnell. Darnell is an 8–year–old African American male diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Darnell is the youngest child; he has another sibling, an older sister who is in the 4th grade. She has not posed any form of learning or intellectual disability. Darnell's father is a 32–year–old engineer and is divorced from Darnell's mother who shares joint custody of both children. As we all know parents play a large role throughout their child's various stages of life and development. To better understand Darnell an interview was conducted with Darnell's father....show more content... During the examination Darnell's father was able to explain to the doctor the concerns he had regarding his son. He explained that Darnell social interaction was none existent, he did not play with other children or even his sister. Darnell preferred playing alone in a corner and had become fixated on one specific toy. When he would play, he focused primarily on one toy even though he had a toy chest filled with other toys. 2. Diagnosis Darnell showed early signs of unusual behaviors that were a cause for concern from his father had. At 18 months Darnell avoided making eye contact with both his parents coupled with not responding to his name when he was called. Darnell's father expressed his concerns to Darnell's mother who did not agree with his concerns; she simply stated that Darnell would catch up along with other children his age. As a result of the couples split Darnell was not given full attention in the matter of his disability, until his father took the initiative to seek help. Darnell's father sought further assistance by having Darnell evaluated by a specialist in learning disabilities such as a developmental pediatrician. This doctor concluded that Darnell had indeed been autistic and ordered for a diagnostic evaluation. This evaluation Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Critique Of Research Synthesis Essay The author maintains that observational centered method of studying is not accurate, rather interview centered method bears more accurate result of study. The argument, stated in a dubious way, fails to mentions some key factors and reveals some instances of poor reasoning, on the basis of which it could be evaluated. However, in order to fully evaluate this we need to have significant amount of additional evidences. The argument is much weaker than it seems. First of all, Dr. Karp's assumption is based on 20 years ago study which might not be true in the present situation. Over the passage of time, surrounding of the village might have changed significantly. For example, some westerners had settled on that village and might have influenced them to change their common trend. Hence, it would certainly weakened Dr. Karp's assumption. In this case his study could have been correct but his assumptions on the view of Dr. Fields method would be seriously weakened. Another piece of evidence...show more content... For example W why did they say about their parent? Additionally, we also don't about the responses of the children for that questions. It would completely undermine Dr Kelps argument if it turned out that the children said how much they miss their parents or how their parents left them for in communal environment. Therefore, its impossible to conclude without knowing their true response to the questions. So without convincing answers, the reader is left with the impressions that the claims made by the author are more of a wishful thinking rather than substantive evidence. Clearly, from above discussion, we can conclude that we need more evidence about surrounding of the village as well as the type of questionnaires asked during the interview or else the author's argument can't be granted as correct Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Synthesis Analysis Synthesis Prewriting The two essays that I choose for the synthesis essay are Parkinson's Alley by Joy Horowitz and The Environmental Issue from Hell: Global Warming Is the Great Moral Crisis of Our Time by Bill Mckibben. Parkinson's Alley is about residents in California's Central Valley town of Visalia who have been diagnosed with Parkinson's. This part of California has the highest number of people diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease. The pesticides that are used in the surrounding farms seeps into the water that the residents use every day, causing them to get the disease. The Environmental Issue from Hell: Global Warming Is the Great Moral Crisis of Our Time is about how global warming is a moral crisis that, if not combated Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Analysis, Evaluation, And Synthesis The theme of this paper is expanding the analysis, evaluation, and synthesis to provide the best solution for the disaster recovery issue through identification of the issue's scope, scale, effect, and so forth, considering various company organization structures. The overriding critical IT issue facing the Fox Television network and cable affiliates is disaster recovery. The result of a natural disaster may halt network operations, which will result in a revenue shortfall for outage duration. Many may consider that the exploration of the television distribution systems is not related to traditional IT components. However, many elements of the traditional television distribution facility are changing to using IT components, and the identification and analysis methods use a similar analysis approach. This paper's content will concentrate on the issue of exploring how to move the network to an alternative distribution location. Problem Resolution Approach Indicated in Figure one is a model for solving problems or issues. This model contains six repeatable steps including 1) define the problem, 2) determine the issues root–cause, 3) develop alternative solutions, 4) select a solution, 5) implement the solution, and 6) evaluate the outcome. Define the Problem Problem Statement: The Fox network transmits over satellite communication infrastructure, and terrestrial fiber networks 36 linear television–programing services from its Los Angeles facility. • 8. Argumentative Essay : Argumentative Synthesis Argumentative Synthesis Education can be defined by how we as humans learn to interact with one another as well as obtaining the skills and perspectives needed to reach our full potential later in life. While education may seem straight forward, there are many ideas as to how it should be successfully presented. The authors, Pratt, Rodriguez, and Freire, all share my belief that educational freedom is vital to a positive classroom experience. Throughout this essay, I will be using their ideas to support why the system of education requires radical reformation. Richard Rodriguez was the son of Hispanic working class parents during the 1940's. From a very young age he was fascinated by books. He would go out of his way to isolate himself from his family in order to read. Throughout his life, Rodriguez maintained his practice of isolation from his family and peers. At the end of his schooling, he discovered the error in his ways. While reading a passage from Hoggart's The Uses of Literacy, Rodriguez found himself in the definition of a "scholarship boy." "The scholarship boy is a very bad student. He is the great mimic; a collector of thoughts, not a thinker; the very last person in class who ever feels obliged to have an opinion of his own." (Rodriguez 352) Throughout his entire academic career, he had mimicked his instructors rather than forming his own opinion. Without these skills, Rodriguez became immediately aware of his "miseducation." While Rodriguez's story is rather Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Lesson 6 Writing: Outline for Part Two: Analysis and Synthesis Argumentative Synthesis Essay According to the April 2016 article, Worldwide Children Statistics, there is estimated to be 140 million children who are orphans. The article also states that children represent almost half of the people living in extreme poverty. Because of this information people struggle with the idea that adoption is hard, and anyone can easily understand why. Adoption isn't necessarily a talked about issue on the news, magazines, or on social media, so who's to blame if no one knows that less children and young teens are being adoptive each year, or that according to the CDC's (Center for Disease and Control Prevention) March 2017 article, that there are 15 abortions per 1,000 women ages 15–44 per year. There are several common protocols that occur when trying to adopt. Family members and adoptive parents should be aware and knowledgeable of the warning signs of adoption, the top five...show more content... According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and an average middle–aged couple who's baby was born last year (2016) can expect to spend over $245,000 to raise their child, this is not including paying for college. If you are planning on adopting, you may end up spending an extra $40,000, or even more that year. According to The Child Welfare Information Gateway states the facts that an average U.S. adoption costs between $8,000–$40,000. If you plan on adopting a child from another country, then the costs range from $15,000–$30,000. If you plan on adopting through a foster care where the average age of a child is 9 years old, this generally involves you becoming a "parent" of an older child, and the cost is much lower because of that, ranging from $0–$2,500. In December of 2013, It was required that Councils will be required to maintain funding for all foster children until they are 21 years of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Language And Synthesis Essay Writers use specific literary devices such as analogy, juxtaposition and syntax to help shape the story in a meaningful way. Also it allows for the reader to have clear understanding towards the argument. In order to help the reader fully comprehend the plot, they must be a wear of sentence fluency and structure in order to add pursasive emphasis to the text. By juxtaposing the argument with another idea, it will relate one's senses and illustrates the aspects being compared. An author also use analogies to bring a more personal connection from the text to reader and direct them on how the author intended for them to feel. In the essay; Delivering Lily, Phillip Lopate commented that, "It would be like asking a blind woman to waltz" (Lopate 427). First off by juxtaposing these two concepts it gives the reader a deeper understanding of what they are going through. As a result it just created an effect that the author was going for which was how one will now be able to picture the situation, without having and prior experience to it. Besides the blind woman may not physically be able to see but that does not mean that she will not have the knowledge about the basics of waltzing. Similarly Lopte also brought up the point of how,"Detachment stands midway between two poles: at the end solipsism; at the other wisdom" (439). The human mind will always allow room for doubts, giving us more grace when one tries to understand how wisdom and solipsism go hand in hand. Clearly showing how different these two are allows for reach two specific traits to be pulled out that will cause for a deeper meaning. An author will use juxtaposition to help draw the reader's feelings into what is being contrasted and illustrate the overarching Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Analysis And Synthesis Abstract and Overview: The authors of this article studied the facets of metalingustics, specifically morphology (word recognition) and phonology (awareness of word sounds). In addition, the authors emphasized the influences of stress on words and decoding. The article dissected the results of a test done on third graders. The test required students to add or remove suffixes from words, create new words by removing letters from current words, and to recognize words within words. This process was an attempt to assess the influence of morphological and phonological awareness on students' ability to read and recognize words. The test showed that metalinguistic skills must be present and working together in order for students to comprehend reading...show more content... The ability to pronounce and understand words and phrases is foundational for all classroom subjects, from math to social studies. If a student is unable to read at his or her age level, the student will inevitably struggle to comprehend all areas of study. For teachers, assessing and improving students' reading abilities is crucial to success in school and in life after graduation. Rather than forcing students to fit into a mold of what they should be able to do, it would be prudent for teachers to test each linguistic skill of students who struggle. Once the area of need has been established, teachers can intervene to aid students in improving multilinguistics. This article pinpoints the areas required for literacy and makes it easy to break down what students should be able to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Synthesis Paper Synthesis Paper: Psyc 255 Research Methods Learned and Critiqued from A Biblical Perspective Denise Beck Liberty University Synthesis Paper: Psyc 255 Research Methods Learned and Critiqued from A Biblical Perspective The goals of this course according to our syllabus were to introduce us to the techniques of psychological research, to improve our understanding of how research is done and the methods used to do it, and to give us the ability to communicate competently about the ideas behind the research process. This paper will use myself as a case study to examine what I have learned about research as it applies to the aforementioned goals. The former deals more with theoretical issues while the latter deals more with practical implications (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Ethical and Legal Issues in Research I have learned that "what" the research finds isn't the only thing that is important. We need to also be considered with "how" they went about finding it. The treatment of the research participants is always a consideration when doing research. Beneficence is the process of finding the most accurate results possible while ensuring fair treatment of the participants (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Some steps taken to ensure proper treatment of participants begin with informed consent. This ensures that those involved understand the all parts of the research that may affect their decision to participate (Cozby & Bates, 2012). This does not necessarily mean that there is full disclosure as that may interfere with accurate results. Debriefing is helpful after the completion of the research to counteract any ill effects suffered because of the research (Cozby & Bates, 2012). A safeguard in place to further protect participants is the Institutional Review Board. This board is in place and responsible for the research conditions taking place at their institution (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Another way to protect participants is confidentiality. This can be achieved through anonymous questionnaires, or coding of answers to protect privacy (Cozby & Bates, 2012). Protection doesn't only apply Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Portfolio Project Management Analysis and Synthesis of Prior Research Analysis and Synthesis of Prior Research The companies that efficiently solve their projects issues and portfolio concerns will differentiate themselves from their competition. The projects that companies work to complete with the many different project methodologies demonstrate where the business is now, and the portfolio of projects of the organization demonstrate where the organization is headed. The method used to help in this endeavor is Portfolio Project Management (PPM). Portfolio Management...show more content... Portfolio board managers or project managers that have the responsibility of leading an organization to their intended goals and objectives must perform an analysis of the current state or performance of the organization, an analysis of the gaps between the current state and the intended state while making the necessary adjustments and corrective actions (Morris & Pinto, 2007). Project Portfolio According to Morris and Pinto (2007) a project portfolio is comprised of a group of projects that are supervised and managed based on the sponsorship of a particular department within the company. The different projects within a portfolio will compete for scarce resources such as labor, finances, and time. At the very top of a project–based organization is portfolio management, which contains all of the projects within the organization. Those organizational projects are prioritized, based on strategic global initiatives and business objectives. They are different from projects assigned to project managers, as they must be aligned with strategic initiatives. Because projects support several business objectives across many different lines of business within the organization, oftentimes these projects are interrelated and are strategic. • 15. Synthesis Essay: The Writing Process Throughout the process of developing our own position, we must draw ideas from other people. This process is called synthesis, as it involves considering various viewpoints in order to create a new viewpoint. However, it is extremely important to know as much as possible about the topic. The main point of synthesizing sources is to enter the conversation that society is having, with logical evidence to back yourself up. But, when looking for reliable source, be aware of a bias that the source might bring to the topic. A writer must analyze the rhetorical situation, even when it comes to sources and documentation. As we further develop skills in writing synthesis essays, the sources that we use will inform our position on the topic. Throughout the essay, the main event is what we have to say, your position is central. As the writer, it is your job to analyze the sources you come across, and to see which one appeals to the audience you are presenting to. It is important to keep an open mind while reading sources, as every piece of evidence could be crucial in the development of an essay....show more content... That is why being able to use sources to inform an argument is crucial when writing any type of essay. I am certain that being able to efficiently use my sources to appeal to an audience would also be a contributing factor to whether or not I clearly state my position in my essay. However, it isn't just important to have the evidence to back your claim up, you must also smoothly integrate it throughout your essay. That is why I extremely appreciate the section on, "Integrating Quotations," that was given during this chapter. This chapter has given me a better understanding of what is means to appropriately use sources throughout my essay. Evidence doesn't explain itself, it's the author's job to make sure no stone gets left unturned when supporting your position with the sources he/she has Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Synthesis Essay Technology Synthesis Essay Technology has increased its role within society gradually over time. Through social media, apps, and devices, we perceive technology to make lives more accessible and easier to the modern crowd. Integration into schools and such almost seems as though we take it for granted, however few seem to realize the negative impacts Technology provides for society. Although helpful, Technology may provide negative effects behaviorally and health–wise, and therefore should be separated from our daily lives. Have you ever stepped away from a screen for a small break, only to realize that you have suddenly become the victim of a severe headache, or even vertigo? These symptoms are two of many reported that are connected to extended exposure Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Article Analysis and Synthesis Article Analysis and Synthesis by Ifeoma Ugwuanyi Jean M Bartunek's article "You're an organization development practitioner–scholar: Can you contribute to organizational theory?" summarizes the past and present relationship that has existed between organizational theory and practice and suggests ways to strengthen connections between them. The author, Jean M. Bartunek is the Chair and Professor of Organization Studies at Boston College. She has a PhD in social and organizational psychology from the University of Illinois in Chicago and has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters. The article discusses means for Organization Development Practitioners (OD) to build stronger links between their work and academic...show more content... The contributions of the OD scholar–practitioners were down played by the author especially in the conclusion. Bartunek's comments raised other issues that suggest further research opportunities. Bartunek in her introduction pointed that, 'there is very little academic writing that emphasizes how practice should inform theory" Bartunek (2008). The evidence provided in the article was more of survey type as it had no experimental or control study. There was also no mention of any limitations to the study. The paragraphs and assertions were well examples–supported. The author used reliable resources in the development of the article as it is evidenced in the references provided. The resources used were mostly peer–reviewed articles and journals written by Academics. In conclusion, the dominant purpose of this article seems to be to convince the reader that the OD practitioner–scholar has not used his position to bring the required change to the relationship that has existed between theory and practice in organization development. Most of the evidences and references were focused on achieving this aim. Considerations for other contributory factors were noticeably lacking notably the contributions of Argyris and Schon, Bartunek (2008). References Jean M Bartunek (2008). • 18. Anthropology And Synthesis Essay There are many specific tools available to help understand evolutionary theory in a biology context, but not for an archaeological context "Applications of evolutionary tools outside biology raise methodological problems which have been largely ignored by philosophers of science." (Houkes 2010: 3) This has recently changed as archaeologists have started to manipulate these applications for the use in an archaeological context "archaeologists and anthropologists have recently started using phylogenetic analysis to reconstruct tool traditions." (Houkes 2010: 2) Through phylogenetics anthropologists have been able to take data sets and use them to understand the evolution of certain cultural phenomena "To date, the use of cladistics has centered almost exclusively on organisms, but there is no logical reason that phylogenetic systematics...show more content... The use of phylogenetics is a relatively new concept "Three factors have led to a renewed anthropological interest in phylogeny during the past two decades: (1) and exponential increase in linguistic and genetic data; (2) advances in analytical and computing methods; and (3) the view that human culture is phenotypic and cultural transmission is an inheritance system and a source of variation." (O'Brien and Lyman 2005: 85) What are phylogenetics and how are they used? This is a loaded question, as the true definition is rooted in a biological context, which is a study of the relationships and evolutionary history among individuals or groups. This information is then analyzed and the result of this analyzation is a phylogeny or a phylogenetic tree "a phylogenetic network is a graph used to visualize a potentially wide range of evolutionary relationships, and they tend to be employed when reticulate events such as hybridization, horizontal transfer, recombination, and other processes are thought likely to be involved." • 19. Analysis/synthesis There are several various community mental health services available through my research. 3 out of 3 study argued not enough study or research done with their strategies and their studied are in preliminary results. However, those projects can give us a good starting point to expand community mental health services and develop access for those suffer with mental illness. Bently, (1994) discusses "optimistic view" of community mental health services. Goal of community mental health services should be a service that oriented towards patients and family, designed individually, coordinated and to provide continuity of care. Society should view community mental health services as new "rich source" that has not been uncovered and utilized as resources for patients and families (Bently, 1994). Community mental health services can create some support and relief to psychiatric boarding because it can reduce ED use and psychiatric boarding. Currier, (2010) and Larimer, (2009) study both address and attempting to support people with chronic mental illness who are homeless. Both studies assumes recurrent use of ED by that population are not cost effective and crippling hospitals funding and resources (Currier, Fisher, & Caine, 2010 & Larimer, et al., 2009). 1811 Eastlake project is a growing and expanding project that was established in Seattle, WA. Their goal is to support and create an environment for the homeless population with mental illness to achieve their Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Synthesis Essay: A Character Analysis What happened: Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth) tells Sam (Kelly Monaco) she was suspended from college for offering sex to a professor named Parker in exchange for a grade (1/18). Kristina questions her sexuality (3/16), as Parker is revealed to be a lesbian (1/19). Her parents find out about the suspension and confront her (3/17). When Kristina admits to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) that she may not be heterosexual, she assumes Kristina was influenced by Parker and that her past with men is the root of her confusion (3/30). Molly (Haley Pullos) has sex with TJ (Tequan Richmond) off–camera on 2/12 after being taunted by Kristina for remaining a virgin and accused of being gay, and gets outed by Kristina before Alexis and Julian's wedding (2/19). Morgan...show more content... Molly has always been contemplative and not easily persuaded. This is a person who stands her ground. Yet, after a few juvenile jabs from her irresponsible big sister, she tells TJ her reasons for being chaste seemed "childish" suddenly. Do you remember what her reason was? A few weeks before, she had concerns about going down a long road of broken emotional commitments, as she observed from others that sex can change relationship dynamics. This was valid and mature, not childish. If she was going to have a change of heart, it should have happened gradually and not under pressure or from bullying. She also should've been the one to tell her family she lost her virginity; if it was going to be announced. When it came out, it was tacky, and all about Kristina's crude middle–school jokes and Alexis' devastation. Molly wasn't the focus–we haven't seen TJ since–and it's really a shame because this was an important moment for a character we've literally watched grow–up. Additionally irking me were repeat lines that had sex as an indicator of womanhood, and Molly saying she could "get into" using handcuffs–because going from a virgin to bondage is so realistic. The writers treated the whole thing like it was an item on a to–do list to be checked Get more content on HelpWriting.net
