Brunswick United Methodist Church seeks a part-time (20 hrs. per week) Education Director who is energetic,
enjoys working with children, youth and adults and is excellent at program planning. This person will play a very
important role in the life of the Church and will be expected to inspire and nurture our children and youth while
helping to develop small groups and the ongoing Christian Education Programs and Sunday School classes. This
person will also participate in worship services with occasional preaching as desired.
Qualified candidates will preferably have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent. Proven experience in
facilitating small groups, and success in leading Christian education classes a must. Excellent communication skills
and strong Christian values also a must.

Avon UMC is looking for a Christian Education and Youth Director - This is a 30 hour position. This position
requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in Christian Education. Years of experience will also be considered.
Some of the primary responsibilities of the Christian Education and Youth director are described as follows: Direct
Christian Education programs for the church including: selection of Sunday School and Bible Study curriculum in
partnership with the Education Committee; scheduling of volunteer teachers for all classrooms and regularly
teaching classes as needed. Chair the Education Committee and work with the committee to organize seasonal
events such as Vacation Bible School, Rally Day, Confirmation classes, and the Christmas and Easter Pageants. Write
articles concerning Christian Education and Youth Programs for the monthly newsletter. Lead and inspire the youth
of the church in their individual faith walks by conducting regular youth group meetings, regular Bible studies and
other activities. Coordinate and participate in Youth mission trips and regular service projects. Coordinate and
participate in fundraisers to support education and youth programs as needed. Manage the Christian Education and
Youth program budget and keep necessary records of fundraising and expenses. Work with parents, the pastor,
volunteers and youth to keep them informed of and involved in upcoming events.
