Presentazione a supporto dell'intervento di Laura Cutaia al webinar "IL NUOVO RAPPORTO TECNICO UNI/TR 11821 SULLE BUONE PRATICHE
DI ECONOMIA CIRCOLARE" del
13 aprile 2023
Nazioni Unite.

19. A new TR for the efficient use and
management of resources in the circular
economy
20. SCOPE OF THE INTENDED TR (1/2)
This TR aims to provide analysis of cases studies for the
current implementation of specific aspects of circular
economy in organizations activities
The proposed TR specifically focuses on efficient use and
management of resources (Materials, Water, Energy, Services,
Skills and Capacities)
The scope of the TR take place from the definition of Circular
Economy that states that resources should be used
maintaining their value as long as possible and should be
efficiently valorized within economic and social systems.
21. SCOPE OF THE INTENDED TR (2/2)
This document provides some definitions and concepts in
accordance with other documents developed in other working
groups of ISO/TC 323 and other relevant TCs
However, the document mainly describes a selection of case
studies of operational implementation of such efficient use and
management of resources approaches that is observed in
different organizations
22. THE USE AND MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES
WITHIN THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Examples: Eco-design
Design of products
and services
Examples: Industrial symbiosis
Efficient use of resources within
production stage
Examples: Service optimization,
[Sharing models], [Product as a service]
Service models
Examples: GPP and Circular
Procurement,
Supply of materials and
items
Examples: Sharing of capacities
Logistic use
Covered by
ISO/TR 59031
Covered by ISO
TC 324
Examples: Primary and secondary stocks
and streams valorization
Production of raw materials
& secondary materials
Examples: Urban mining, landfill mining, collection
systems , reuse models, recycling
End of life management
23. UNLOCKING THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY POTENTIAL
The sharp increase of organizations optimizing the
use of resources for the CE
The number of organizations developing solutions
based on innovative resource use is globally increasing
Most of such companies already provide solutions for
effective closing of the loop. Nevertheless, few
technical addressing documents are currently provided.

Circular Economy
Addressing change towards resource use
The TR can provide best cases according to a specific paradigm framework. Cases are
collected with a specific reference to a certain operational paradigm (e.g. guidance
for supporting the valorization of residues)
Collection of relevant cases
The assessment method for collected use case will be consistent with existing
ongoing works from ISO TC 323
Link with emerging documents from TC 323
The TR can provide operational framework in order to replicate project,
