Nexus 7 with 3G and flash?

Google entered the tablet market with not one, but two tablets, both of which offered the
compelling combination of great specs and low prices. Apple launched two full-sized iPads
and the iPad mini, and even Microsoft got in on the game, with the first batch of Windows 8
and Windows RT tablets, such as the Microsoft Surface. Not much is yet known about what
will come next year, but a lot can be deduced - or at least guessed, based on what we've
already seen. It doesn't seem too much of a stretch to imagine that Google will unleash a
new wave of Nexus tablets at some point in the year. Their Nexus phones have all been
spaced roughly a year apart and much of the rest of the industry seems to work in the same
way. The Nexus 7 was announced at Google I/O in June and released the following month. If
the same thing happens again we could have a new Nexus tablet in as little as six months,
though bear in mind that the Nexus 10 was only released in November. The Nexus was a
huge hit for Google; can they keep that momentum? What we may get is a new Nexus 7 (or
whatever Google choose to call it) in the middle of the year, along with a tweaked version of
the Nexus 10 with 3G capabilities, since the Nexus 7 already has that.

The asus nexus 7 reviews hasn't stopped it, In the GeekBench 2 performance benchmark
test the Nexus 10 crushed its rivals with a record score of 2505. As might be expected for a
device two iterations old, the iPad 2 scores 770. It's nowhere near as fast, but it is plenty fast
enough in use. (For context, the nearest challenger to the Nexus 10 is the iPad 4, which
scored 1769.) The Nexus 10 scored an average of 1329ms in the SunSpider JavaScript test -
a respectable result. The iPad 2 isn't too far behind, here, with a decent score of 1519ms
(lower is better in this test). In terms of graphics, the gap is again small. The Nexus 10 is a
competent performer with a GLBenchmark Egypt HD test score of 27fps. The iPad 2 got an
also respectable score of 24fps - interestingly better than the iPad 3's 22fps. The iPad 4's
39fps is the best we've seen in this test. Leaing aside the scientific numbers, however,
performance on both devices is excellent. The Nexus 10 quickly responds to any input or
command. Apps open quickly and pinch zooming in the Chrome browser is silky smooth. The
iPad 2 is marginally slower in terms of responsiveness, but it's unlikely you'll be disappointed
in its performance.

Writing messages is easier than ever with Gesture Typing - glide your finger over the letters
to compose emails or texts in a snap. The keyboard can anticipate and predict the next word,
so you can power through your messages like never before. Nexus 7 was made for Google
Play, putting all the entertainment you love right in your hand: the world's largest collection of
eBooks, millions of songs, thousands of movies and TV shows, and the latest magazines -
plus over 700,000 apps and games. Forget about cables and syncing. Google Play stores all
your digital content in the cloud so it’s instantly available and you can pick up right where you
left off.

When it comes to Nexus 10, the device packs a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1560 x
1600 pixels and 300 ppi pixel density. Also, Nexus 10 houses a 1.7GHz A15 dual-core
processor, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 16GB and 32GB internal storage options,
2GB RAM, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, micro HDMI, dual side NFC, GPS+Glonass
connectivity features and and a 9,000 mAh Li-ion battery offering up to 9 hours video
playback and 500 hours standby.

On the topic of screen resolution, Swatton confirmed that 2013 will be the year when
resolution on mainstream laptops finally increases beyond 1,366 x 768 pixels. Given that full
HD tablets and full HD smartphones are now becoming more common, it was only a matter
of time.

Both Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 are available in 16- and 32GB capacities, with no memory-card
slot for storage expansion. However, Google actively pushes the practice of using the cloud
for storage and streaming, with services including Google Play Movies & TV, Google Books,
Google Music, Google Magazines and more. You can also invest in a Wi-Fi-enabled hard
drive for additional storage, or take advantage of the many cloud-storage apps available in
Google Play - or anywhere else on the web, for that matter, since Android isn't locked-down
in the same way as rival mobile operating systems. We wouldn't imagine either tablet being
the ideal device on which to take digital photos, but you would look marginally less stupid
holding up the 7in Nexus 7 than the 10in Nexus 10 to capture snaps. Unfortunately, the
Nexus 7 doesn't have a rear-facing camera, so you'll have to make do with the Nexus 10 and
its 5Mp model. This is combined with an LED flash, and can take good-quality images; there
are also some tweakable settings within the camera app, such as exposure and white
balance, and you can go to town afterward. A Photo Sphere mode, new to Jelly Bean 4.2,
lets you capture 360-degree panoramas. More useful, perhaps, is the front-facing camera,
which can be used with video-chat services such as Skype, or simply to check your hair and
make-up is in place. In this regard the Nexus 10 packs a 1.9Mp snapper, which is capable of
720p video; the Nexus 7 has a lower-resolution 1.2Mp webcam, also suitable for 720p video.
