Rules of the Artroom
Stay Positive –Thisclassisan elective. You should be inhere because you want
tobe. NoI cant’s or negativity. It isnot a blow-off Class but it is fun. In this class
you will: create art,clean,write about art notes/tests/journal artists
statements/research),talkabout art (discuss,critique,art vocabulary) BE
PREPAREDTO WORK.
Respect Art Materials & Artroom Equipment It’sexpensive. FCHS HAS
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THEFT!Lost,stolen,or brokenmaterialswill be replaced
by those responsible or will be billed,by the school,to the person responsible
(Discretion left up to Mrs.Hurd &FCHS). DO NOT WASTE SUPPLIES. Studentswill
also be writtenupandchargedfor destructionofschool property. Destruction of
school property alsoincludeswriting/drawing ondesksandother art materials
and/or messesleft un-cleaned. Every day you are responsible for cleaning upyour
supplies, workarea,and pushing in your chair. Failure todoso will result in a
write up.
BE Kind-Keephandsand feet toyourself. Do not “play” with art supplies. If
you don’t have anything nice tosay thenkeepit toyourself. Everyone shouldtry
tomaintaina positive,safe, cleanenvironment inthe artroom. Themore time you
waste the lesstime we have tomake art and do fun activities.
PHONES/FOOD- NOPHONES/MP3/Tablets! IfI see it I will take it the first time,
after that it will goto the office w/write up.NOFOOD! Bottledwater only.
PARTICIPATION- You needtobe present,
on time,andparticipating inclass. Use class
time wisely. Maintainapositive attitude.
Below behaviorsequal zeroparticipationpoints
and a possible write up:
1. Not working inclass
2. Foul Language /disruptiveness
/argumentative /excessive talking/not
staying in seat/insubordinate
3. Leaving a mess/ suppliesout/ breaking
supplies/ not pushing in seats
4. Not having requiredart materials
(pencil,blackink pen,permanent
marker,sketchbook,homework)
5. 3 tardies& all othersafter that
6. Not coming toclass preparedwith
supplies.
Tardy- Studentsreceive 3-the 3rd
will be an
unexcusedabsent andrequire that you take
final exams. What qualifiesasa tardy? Going to
locker,bathroom,or getting adrink. (Basically
any reasonyou leave the classroom) Yesyou
may receive more thanone tardy per class
period.
PROCEDURES-Arrivetoclasson time,take out sketchbookand Checkthe
board for daily ART ZINGER,assignments,anddue dates.Beginworking quietlyon
the ART ZINGER. Attendance will be taken. Art instructionwill begin after ART
ZINGER. Every day you will receive aparticipationgrade. Everyday you will create
an ART ZINGER. The art zinger istobe dated,andwill be checkedon Friday’s or
Monday’s. If you miss anart zinger asketchof your choice will be requiredin its
place.
Any time you view a power point-take notes. There will be atest over power point
& vocabulary.
DUE DATES- Everyone worksat adifferent pace whenit comestoart. Due
datesare establishedtoensure completionofcurriculum. Art projectscan andwill
be expectedtobe brought home toworkon. Extensionsondue datesmust be
pre-arrangedwithMrs.Hurd. Ifyou are going above and beyondthe requirements
and using class time wisely thiswill not be a problem. Otherwiseworkwill have
pointsdeductedeachday late. Studentsare responsible for asking Mrs.Hurd
about make up workor making arrangementsfor extendedtimeon projectswhen
absent.Unexcusedabsents= zeropoints.
