1. Sun & Mekong
I am communicating about the Mekong in Laos and the
sun going down the Mekong. The Mekong is an
important river in Laos.

2. I used rule of thirds, background
and depth in this picture.
I used these rules because in the rule
of thirds, there are different things
so that you don’t have only one
focus, which is for most people the
sun, but there are more focuses. The
tree, the plane, Thailand in the
background and the car.
I made this picture because I liked
how the sun was shining and the
plane that was passing through and
how you can see Thailand on the
other side. I also kind of made the
picture so that it looks like the sun is
resting on the bar thingies and the
sun reflects in the water under it.
3. In this picture, I also used rule of
thirds and balancing elements. I
used rule of thirds because it looks
more interesting and because there
are four things that can be focused
on. The sun, the tree, the bench
and the board. I used balancing
elements so that not the entire
focus goes to the sun.
I made this picture because the
sun is shining really bright and
because the viewpoint is
interesting because the menu
board as well as the bench are
making the picture interesting as
balancing elements.
4. In this picture I didn’t
really use any rules. I
only used depth a little
bit but the picture is still
interesting because the
sun is balancing on the
lanterns and it reflects in
the Mekong.
I made this picture
because the light stripes
are beautiful and the sun
has a reflection in the
Mekong.
5. In this picture, I used rule
of thirds, background and
depth. I used these so
that also here, not all the
focus is on the sun.
The difference between
this picture and the first
one is, that there is a
menu board on the
picture and there isn’t a
plane. But also the sun is
now in the right upper
corner and not in the left
corner.
6. I used symmetry and
patterns, background,
viewpoint and background.
I used symmetry and
patterns with this picture
because of the reflection of
the sun in the water
I made this picture because
it shows even more how
bright the sun shines over
the Mekong, the sun
reflecting in the Mekong
and that it is resting on the
lanterns.
7. I used viewpoint and background in this picture. The sun is just going down and you can see
the glass of the car window. There is a reflection in the window if you look really carefully.
I made this picture because I thought it would be interesting to see the rail that stop you from
falling in the Mekong.
