Graffiti Exploration
   Storyboards
Peter is new to Ann Arbor. One day when he walked on East Liberty St., he
suddenly got a notification on his mobile phone.
He immediately found out there is a graffiti alley on his right hand side.
He stopped at an interesting looking graffiti, and took out his phone.
Peter opened the Graffiti Map Augmented Reality browser…
…and targeted the graffiti he was interested in on the wall
Graffiti Map identified the graffiti and displayed relevant information.
The meaning of the graffiti was “I declare a permanent state of happiness.”
Peter came to know that the graffiti was made by an artist called Jeffrey
Peace, who incidentally hails from the same city as Peter.
Peter thought this was really cool, and quickly shared it with his friends on
                                Facebook!
Peter realized that another artist created a puzzle using graffiti.
He took the challenge and solved it!
One Week Later
Peter was all set to leave Ann Arbor and again walked past the Graffiti Alley…
…and he noticed that Jeffrey Peace’s graffiti had been modified!
                 The exploration continues…
Graffiti Map - Impact
On the Artist
• Propagation of the ideas and perspectives of the artist
• Documentation

On the Users
• Know about the city’s history and culture
• More engaging way to interact with the city
• Help build public opinion
Graffiti Map - Challenges
A lot of Graffiti Artists are merely taggers or just
want to make their presence felt!

Some artists want to remain anonymous

How to tell visitors about a registered graffiti in the
vicinity?
Thank you!
