How do you approach the reading comprehension?
1. Firstly, Read through the text quickly. Get a
general idea of what the text is about
(Skimming)
2. Secondly, read the exam questions underneath.
Some of the answers you may know already.
Highlight what you are being asked to do i.e.: Is
the examiner looking for two reasons in your
answer?
3. Thirdly, read the text again using scanning and
close reading techniques. Underline my
answers in the text.
4. Decide if you will need to change the sentence
around.
5. Use full answers in all questions.
6. 5 Marks = clear and concise
10 Marks = PQE
