Special Notes
Grand Rapids Field Trip-
On Thursday, April 19th we will travel to
Grand Rapids to visit the museum, the
planetarium, and the Facing Mars Exhibit.
We will board the bus at 8am and plan to
return to the school at 3pm. Students must
provide a sack lunch, unless they ordered
one from the school on the permission slip.
Spelling -
This week we looked at words that end in
y, and how to correctly add suffixes. The
students realized that when a noun ends in
consonant-y, you have to “drop the y and
add –ies.”
Reading-
We have been working on our personal
reading books as well as meeting in our
guided reading groups this week. We read
stories about making ice cream, a squire,
the Hope Diamond, and how big a trillion
is.
Writing-
We have begun researching a specific
Michigan topic. Students will be wrapping
up their research next Monday. After our
research is complete we will begin to
outline our information and prepare to
write our Michigan Research Paper.
Math-
We are still working on Division! We will
wrap up our unit next week and take our
test the following week!
SocialStudies-
We are looking at MI from 1900 on. We will
have a test early next week over Chpt. 7.
