LED Lights: Weighing The Pros And Cons

to today LEDs have evolved phenomenally over a period of time.
Nowadays, LEDs are used extensively and have many advantages over
different types of lighting such as compact fluorescent lights, or CFL.

lighting.

LED lights use a whopping 70 percent less energy than incandescent
lights. This can add to the savings of household. The efficiency of

Undoubtedly, LEDs cost more upfront. But, LEDs will save
significant money compared to both CFLs and incandescent lights.

Flexibility
LEDs can be transformed into any shape to produce efficient
illumination. Individual LEDs can be dimmed to control light, color
and distribution. LED illumination systems can create a fantastic
ambience with lighting effects not only for the eye, but also for a
calming and relaxing effect on the mind.

Eco-friendly
Unlike conventional lighting bulbs, LED lights are free of toxic
chemicals considered to be dangerous for environment such as
mercury. This toxic substance is often associated with severe
birth defects and brain disorders. CFLs use mercury to create light
and make it extremely risky to use around children. LED lights will

Safety
LED lights are safe compared to incandescent lights. LEDs

compared to CFL or incandescent light. Consumers often pass
out on the initial cost and don’t factor long life span and less
energy consumption.

Path Oriented
LEDs emit light similar to a flashlight in a beam or a consistent path.
They don’t spread evenly. As a result, the use of LED is restricted to
spotlights or accent lights for decorative purpose. However, with
every new generation of LED bulb the technology seems to be
improving. Newer bulbs emit light in a more even fashion.
