Music magazine contents page
1. Contents
At the top off the contents page ‘contents’ is usually written in big bold writing.
Although its not the largest font used on the Q magazine contents page it is
bigger than the body. In some cases the masthead will also be repeated and
written at the top near ‘contents’ but this isn't seen frequently. The reason for
this is so people know what it is and can find it easily.
2. Colour scheme
Just like the front cover there is a continued colour scheme featuring 3-4
colours. This is because it makes the magazine more visually interesting and
appealing. Although its important that the colours used are simple and not
to bold as if they are the writing may be hard to read and appear unclear to
customers.
Columns
Contents pages should always have 3-4 columns no more or no less. The
columns should feature regular content such as competition, quizzes, news,
reviews etc. and also featured content such as articles to do with artists/bands
and things which will attract majority of the customers. By doing 3-4 columns
it makes the contents page look more visually appealing as the layout is clear
and professional.
3. Images
he pictures on the contents page dominate the entire page and are the main focus.
The biggest picture featured is usually the artist which is the main image on the
front cover and also the person with a featured article. As seen on the examples
there is a number written on the bottom or top off the images which is in big bold
writing, this is because if you like the artist in the image you will want to read it no
matter what therefore information about the article is not necessary. The size off
the image also changes based on how important the article is.
4. The issue number
The issue number in this case is written in big font at the top off the
page instead of contents. But usually in majority of music magazines it is
in smaller font and not as noticeable, its also usually positioned next to
the release date at the top or bottom on the left side off the page out of
the way.
