What is Extender?
Basically, Extenders are devices that are used to extend the coverage of the existing wireless router.
These are used in large homes or offices. Extenders are also called as boosters as they boost the
coverage area. Extenders can be used for various types of network. The areas where the range is not
proper are called dead spots. Extenders are used to provide the network to these areas in the home.
To setup the extender you need to visit their official website mywifiext.net. And to configure the

Steps to setup Netgear WN3500RP /WN2500RPv2 WiFi Range Extender:
• Switch on the extender and wait until the power LED turns green.
• The default network name (SSID) of the extender is NETGEAR_EXT. Connect your wireless
computer to the wireless network using this default network name.
• Launch a web browser, it will automatically take you to the Netgear genie setup guide page.
• Within the existing range, the genie will search for the networks. A list of existing wireless
network is shown to you after the search is complete. You have to select your existing network
name which you want to extend and then click on continue button.
• If you have set the password for your network then it will ask you to type the passphrase before
connection. Enter the passphrase and then click on continue button.
Note: If the name of your network is not visible to you in the list of the network then you have to
check that your extender is within the range of main network or router.

• After the connection is setup, a window opens asking you that you want to change the settings

• A screen displays after two minutes. After this happens, your computer is disconnected from the
extender wireless network. Review the settings and make sure they are correct.
