3. Why Tourism as a Career Choice?
In 2012 there was for the first time 1bn international
tourist arrivals worldwide. (UNWTO)
It is expected to continue to increase by 3.3% per year to
reach 1.8 billion by 2030 according to UNWTO
Nationally the forecast is very good for the tourism
industry with recent figures by the CSO indicating that
tourism grew by 6.4% in the first nine months of this year.
In addition government policy is very favourable to the
