Our final pitch for the film Reflux reflects the research we conducted. Based on a focus group and interviews, we changed the father's addiction from drugs to alcoholism, which is more relatable, and had the character sent to rehab by social services rather than the government. Audience feedback from a questionnaire also informed our decision to use minimal dialogue with music and ambient train station sounds, have no filters, and convey the main character's emotions through close-ups and long shots. The film will depict modern social issues and feature working class characters in an urban setting.

 The conventions for the genre are shown by:
 Presenting modern and typical issues in society; the fathers
use of alcohol
 The characters are working class
 The film will take place in an urban area reflecting the
conventional mis-en-scene

 We changed our name from ‘Relapse’ to Reflux’
 The audience preferred a minimal dialogue with music which
we are having as well as the sounds from the train station.
 We will have no filter over the film
 It will be thought provoking through close ups and long shots to
convey the emotions of Ethan. This is the name which the
audience also preferred.

 Both said that there are not many orphanages now a days so
we are using a foster home/family
 It was said that drug problems are less relatable so we are
using alcoholism as the problem which is more relevant to
modern day society.
 They also said that you don’t get sent to rehab by the
government but by social services so we are changing this.
