PRODUCERS   are  organisms that can make their own food  by carrying out photosynthesis. copyright cmassengale
Examples of producers are:  plants, algae, and some bacteria Producers use most  of the energy that they make for  themselves. copyright cmassengale
The  energy that is not used by producers  can be passed on to organisms that cannot make their own food. copyright cmassengale
CONSUMERS   are organisms that  cannot make their own food. They  obtain energy by eating other organisms. copyright cmassengale
THREE TYPES OF CONSUMER  ,[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],copyright cmassengale
Primary Consumers  are consumers that eat producers   to get energy. ,[object Object],copyright cmassengale
Secondary Consumers   are  consumers that feed on primary consumers   to get energy. ,[object Object],copyright cmassengale
Tertiary consumers   are  consumers that feed on secondary consumers  to get energy . ,[object Object],copyright cmassengale
[object Object],copyright cmassengale Decomposers   get energy by breaking down dead organisms. Examples   include  most fungi  and  many types of bacteria. They  return chemicals to the environment .
