Clergyman (a male priest or minister of a Christian
church.)

history.

• Martin Luther King Jr was also an amazing student and
achieved lots in his early life. He skipped both grades

5. WHAT
• What is Martin Luther King Jr. best known for?
• Martin Luther King Jr. is best known
for his African-American Civil Rights
Movement and Peace movement.
• Making a stand to advance
civil rights using nonviolence.
• In 1962, He organized nonviolent protests in Birmingham,
Alabama, that received national attention on the news
showing the brutal police response.
• King also helped to organize the 1963 March on
Washington, where he delivered his "I Have a Dream"
speech. This speech is one of the most important moments
he is remembered from.
6. WHEN
• When did he make the most difference in the
world?
• I don’t think you could say there is a certain time
Martin Luther King Jr made the most difference in
the world, I think over the period of time the he was
speaking and fighting for what he believed in even
if it meant going to jail several times was when he
made a difference.
• I think not just him making a difference, but others
being inspired by Martin to make a difference in the
world was also a very big accomplishment.
7. WHERE
• Where did he do his work? Speeches?
• Martin Luther King Jr publicly spoke in many places all
over America. Although he is best known for his I have
a dream speech.
• Another campaign that he was a part of that is well
known is the Birmingham campaign, the Birmingham
campaign is known because Martin Luther King Jr was
arrested and jailed early in the campaign this was his
13th arrest.
8. WHY
• Why did Martin Luther King Jr. do what he did?
• Martin Luther King's faith was strongly based in
Jesus' commandment of loving your neighbor as
yourself, loving God above all, and loving your
enemies, praying for them and blessing them.
• His non-violent ways were also based in Jesus' teaching
of putting the sword back into its place (Matthew 26:52).
In his famous Letter from Birmingham Jail, King wants
action with what he describes as Jesus' "extremist" love,
and also quoted some other Christian pacifist authors,
which was very usual for him. In his speech I've Been to
the Mountaintop, he stated that he just wanted to do
God's will.
9. HOW
• How did Martin Luther King Jr change history?
• Martin Luther King Jr changed history by supporting
and speaking for African-American people using
non-violence.
• This lead to others doing similar and eventually
freedom was almost accomplished for AfricanAmerican, I say almost because in parts of the US
(and the world) there is still discrimination going on.
Although it was far, far worse when Martin Luther
King Jr. was alive.
10. SELF-REFECTION
• I would give myself an exceeds expectations. I think I
did well on this project because once I found my topic
interesting it was easier to search and find information.
Also I think I used good pictures and made a neat and
clear PowerPoint. The Part of the project that I didn’t
do well on was that I was behind in my work, thankful I
got more interested so I could work without being
completely bored.
• I already knew some facts about Martin Luther King Jr.
that’s way I choose him to do my project on. I knew
that he helped African-Americans to get equally. A
fact that was important that I did not know was that
he did so using non-violence, almost everything else I
learned was new information to me.
