1. Distance Learning Students
Portraits, USC El Rodeo yearbook Graduates section
Each year, USC’s El Rodeo yearbook features a Graduates section with
individual portraits of those students who are receiving degrees (including both
undergraduates and graduates), and who wish to have their photos taken for that
purpose. Portraits for each year’s graduates are taken on campus free of charge
by Lauren Studios, our official yearbook portrait photographer, during the fall
semester.
Note: All efforts should be made to have portraits taken on campus, as the
appropriate attire and required backgrounds are provided at no cost.
The below outlined procedure is provided for students who are unable to
schedule a portrait sitting on campus during the fall semester yearbook photo
sessions.
1) Distance learning students will be required to have a head and shoulders
session photographed locally in appropriate graduation attire and on a green
screen background.
2) If the appropriate attire is unavailable, the student will be responsible for
acquiring the attire from the USC Bookstore Supplies Department, (213) 740-
8997. Allow 2-3 weeks for rented attire and 8-10 weeks for purchased attire.
Bachelors Degree: Black gown, official USC cardinal/gold sash with seal, cap
optional
Masters Degree: Black gown, cap optional, hood color specific to degree earned;
Hood color list available at http://uscelrodeo.com/hoods
Doctoral Degree: Black or Cardinal gown, cap optional, hood color specific to
degree earned; Hood color list available at http://uscelrodeo.com/hoods
3) The student or the local photographer will need to send Lauren Studios, USC
contract photographer, a digital file of the images and Lauren personnel
will manipulate the image to match the USC backgrounds and insure consistency
within the yearbook’s Graduates section.
Fee for design services (to match USC background and insure
consistency/format with the portrait section): $40, payable to Lauren
Studios.
Please contact: Melissa@laurenstudios.com by November 1, 2011 for specific
instruction. All images must be sent to Lauren Studios by December 1, 2011.
