Time Series Foundation Models - current state and future directions
Future Processor Growth
1.
2. Future Processor Growth
Moore’s law
How its held true
How computers have
advanced in recent years
Speed
Power
Size
3. Have we reached the smallest
usable footprint??
No,
of course not
4. So many possibilities
Within today’s fast growing world of
technology products are constantly
getting smaller and smaller so it is
easier to travel with, carry and manage.
Two products that we will touch on are:
Cell Phones
Computers
7. Nanotechnology
The engineering of functional systems at a
molecular scale
Deals with objects smaller than 100
nanometers.
1 Nanometer = 1 billionth of a meter
(Comparable to avg. human hair which equals
100,000 nanometers)
8. Nanotechnology
Desktop computers transformed to the
size of a watch
Cell phones could become the size of
dimes and attached to an individual’s
collar
Car engines smaller than the tip of your
finger, but operates 10 times longer than
current ones
9. Nanotechnology cont’d
The development and research of
Nanotechnology would create
possibilities that would allow devices to
take up less space and operate on a
level exceeding any existing product.
It has the capabilities of change the
capabilities of chemistry, mathematics,
biology, physics and computer science.
12. Business Technology
What makes technology attractive to
businesses?
Makes job easier
Increases performance
Hinweis der Redaktion
What alternatives are viable for delivery of technology to the public in the near future? Well, by discussing all the benefits of the product, customers increase their interest and look into purchasing or upgrading. Another alternative way to deliver technology is to create a product unique in its own class. Everyone is looking into tablets and Smartphones, but no one is looking into new technology for cooking, or cars. It’s a leap in a unique direction, but it goes against the norms. Distance learning has a long way to develop. It integrates video communication, expanding on features like Skype, but for purposes not yet examined. Video conferencing in classrooms with guest speakers that could explain things via computer. Or teachers teaching in other locations. We already have a virtual keyboard. What’s stopping us from creating a platform that pops out of a small box with every computer application at the imaginary touch of our hand. Looking at the bigger picture and seeing what we need to improve on instead of upgrading things that already exist. Water purification machines, medicinal machines, security needs could all use new looks on technology.
Making your products in a way that is attractive to businesses can give you a strong competitive advantage over the competition. - This opens up a market for you that allows you to sell large quantities of your product to a single buyer…the company.
- Technology that can make the job of people in the business world easier and more efficient without losing effectiveness is a what businesses will be attracted to Internet has linked the world together and people could communicate across the world from the computer on their desk. Now you can do it from mobile devices at anytime, from anywhereBusinesses love it and if you can convince businesses that your product can give them a competitive advantage over their competition, it will create a competitive advantage for you as well
