Since I was a kid, I’ve loved art classes. It’s really important to express yourself through more than just words. High school art classes really opened my eyes to the possibilities of expressing oneself.
My greatest passion became painting politically.
Pablo Picasso once said, “The world today doesn't make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?”
Political painting catches peoples’ attention because others can relate. The creativity is brought to light with phrases or symbols or public figures that people all over the world feel a connection too.
Brian Lee Jones said, “Avoiding political influence in our thinking as artists is nearly impossible in this plugged-in media-stimulated world. The emotion of choice is fear.”
Where writers could be criticized for their scrutiny of the government, painters can get away with.
Barack Obama, “If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists - to protect them and to promote their common welfare - all else is lost.”
The technology today expands political painting to a whole new art. Using Paint and other programs, the intensity can be escalated even further in this expression.
It doesn’t matter if you are liberal or conservative or any ideology at all…expressing how you feel makes others think. That is how one person can make a difference to so many.
