2. The European Union is a supranational and intergovernmental union of 27 countries strong (2 of these countries are joining on the 1 st of January 2007.) 3. The EU The EU was invented after World War 2 to help Europe build up again and stop another War happening. They sort out problems and help each other. The EU’s economy will continue to grow if more and more countries continue to join. One problem was that Britain found it hard to join he EU because the French President didn’t want the British joining. There is no conflict between that now.
4. Reason for the EU The Eu is good because it gives the whole of Europe a good exchange in marketing, there is no chance of Countries fighting while they are in the EU. The only main problem with marketing is that Britain has refused to use the Euro which would make everything easier in the whole of Europe and people travelling on holiday. I believe Britain will change to the Euro soon.
5. Italia Winners of the 2006 World Cup My Country Power Point is on Italy. It is my favourite European Country and I go on holiday to Italy almost every year. Italy was one of the founding members of the EU.
6. The Reason I picked Italy It’s culture is much different to ours and people are much more relaxed and time feels like its going slower when your over there. I visit Italy almost every year because I love it’s beautiful, green and quiet countryside and its busy roads but lazy pedestrians.
7. Italy compared to the other countries Italy is well known for its pasta, pizza, ciabatta and a folded over pizza which is a bit like a pie. These are well known because Italians use fresh ingredients not ingredients kept in fridges, they have much cleaner streets than the UK because the cities are not big and people do not throw chewing gum and rubbish everywhere. 8. Italy’s economy Italy has the fourth best economy in the whole of Europe. This means it is bringing in a lot of money compared to other countries and is obviously a very large contribution to the EU.
