Hinweis der Redaktion

1. We’re here because of the beauty of the web. We love the web because of sites. Browsers are important because they’re how we run sites. When you buy a PC or device, you expect a great experience. Windows customers expect the same… they want great PCs that are secure, fast, reliable, work with other hardware out of the box, and deliver a great experience of the web.We care about browsers because you bought a PC and a copy of Windows and you should have a great web experience. More than half the time that people spend in Windows (59%) is online in a browser. So, it’s worth making it greatThere are over 1 billion Windows customers in the world today. We have built Internet Explorer for these users; optimized the product to meet their needs. We want to deliver a best in class experience of the web through Windows, as compelling as the rest of the native Windows applications.
2. Now, let’s dive into the evolution of the web and how it had dramatically changed over recent years. The web yesterday was static, content focused – a utilitarian tool. People spent their time finding and consuming data, but it was difficult to share information in real time. The web today is increasingly interactive, personalized and an increasingly social place to share and watch videos. As we look to tomorrow’s web, we see an interactive web with rich graphics and fast performance. We see an increasing number of rich web applications connecting and engaging users. And as the promise of these rich web application dominates the user experience and as users spend more time in the browser on their PC – they will come to expect more, they will expect the same richness and interactive capabilities once exclusive to native PC applications. The reality is today’s browsers however are wholly insufficient for this upcoming web. As the web comes to dominate the time customers spend on their PC, they will expect more - they will come to expect the same capabilities
3. There are more choices than ever when it comes to web browsing. This choice is a good thing. It’s good for customers, it’s good for MS, and it’s good for the web.IE8 continues to be the world’s #1 and fast growing browser. It continues to lead in malware & phishing protection even as competitors continue to ship new versions. We are the only browser by investing in the best data available for identifying in malware. We continue to invest in our backend to improve catch efficiency. IE passed more than 1 billion Malware blocks on July 5th. May & June saw more than 100 million blocks / month. Lifetime phishing protection across IE7 + IE8 is around 160 million blocksThis last year IE8 grew an entire FF and continues to increase share above all competitors every month since its launch in March09. When consumers and developers are evaluating browsers there are a number of factors, however it’s really important to keep in mind that while there are all these browsers out there…no one really cares about a browser.
4. 三屏合一 云服务 以及浏览器之间的关系。。。<Enwei, 请翻页>
5. Enter IE9… unleash a more beautiful web.
6. Hardware Accelerated GraphicsMany browsers take a lowest common denominator approach to performance and ignore the much of the capabilities of the operating system and hardware in the PC. Internet Explorer 9 takes full advantage of both the operating system and hardware to fully accelerate rendering of web pages. As an example, we use the graphics processing unit (GPU) when dealing with text, graphics, and new HTML5 technologies like Video, SVG and Canvas. Over the last ten years the computing power of the GPU has grown exponentially and today’s GPUs can achieve more than one teraflop of computation. When you compare that to modern CPUs which have barely achieved 100 gigaflops of computation you can see how much computation power can be unlocked through modern hardware. Internet Explorer 9 leverages the power of the GPU through the DirectX®, Direct2D® and DirectWrite® API’s to ensure that text is crisp, graphics and animations are smooth, and that HD video is stunning. What does our performance work mean? You can feel the result of our performance improvements in your everyday browsing. Pages load and respond nearly instantly. For the next wave of HTML5 applications, the www.ietestdrive.com gives examples of rich and immersive HTML5 web experiences running on a browser architected from the ground up to be all-round fast. Compare your experience in those demonstration sites in Internet Explorer 9 with other browsers to get a feel for a truly all-round fast browser.
7. All Around Fast – Using the power of your whole PCBrowser SunSpider Result Average (msYou’ll notice that the performance difference between IE9 and other browsers on this benchmark is in the range of an eye-blink. As we continue to make IE9’s script engine faster for real world sites, IE will continue to become faster at this particular benchmark as well. To date we’ve done very little specific tuning for WebkitSunspider. As with most benchmarks, depending on your machine, the differences may vary. The performance you experience browsing actual websites often has less to do with JavaScript than with other subsystems in the browser. IE9 delivers improvements across all dimensions of performance:New DOMRe-engineered layout optimizationNew Chakra JavaScript engineThe performance you experience browsing actual websites often has less to do with JavaScript than with other subsystems in the browser. IE9 delivers improvements across all dimensions of performance:New DOMRe-engineered layout optimizationNew Chakra JavaScript engineAll Around Fast – GPU Powered HTML 5Hardware-accelerated graphics, text and HD video means differentiated PCs through better hardware:Multi-core CPUsGPUsIE9 is CleanLet’s talk about what makes IE9 clean. First, with a new clear and direct browser interface we put the focus on the web with simplified controls and increasing viewing area that let websites shine. Also with a redesigned new tab page that shows your most frequently visited sites – you get easy access to the things you do most. Second, with Windows 7 integration you can pin sites to your Windows taskbar for quick access and a site enhanced UI that reflects the site you are visiting and nothing else. Also, with jump lists, aero snap and thumbnail toolbars IE9 becomes an even more integrated part of your Windows experience. Third, with a smarter address bar you can search straight from the address bar and get to sites fast with inline autocomplete, top result – to send you to the top result of your search query fast- and search suggestions. Finally, with streamlined notifications and a new non-modal suggest bar you can continue browsing and remain informed at the same time.Clear and direct browser interfacePuts the focus on the web with simplified controls and increased viewing area that let websites shineRedesigned new tab pageSmarter Address BarSearch straight from the address bar and get to sites fast with Inline AutoComplete, TopResult and search suggestions Windows 7 IntegrationPin sites to your Windows taskbar for quick access and a ‘site enhanced’ UI that reflects the site you are visiting and nothing else.Jump lists, aero snap and thumbnail toolbars Streamlined NotificationsNon-modal suggest bar at the bottom of the browser that lets you continue browsing, while remaining informedClear and direct browser interfaceThe role of the browser is not to simply get out of the way, but to bring sites forward. In Internet Explorer 9, the simplified yet enhanced user interface and user experience puts the focus on the content of each website. By default, only the controls essential for browsing are in the browser frame and less screen real estate is used compared to other current browsers, letting people browse and experience all that the sites have to offer.Characteristics of each website are reflected throughout the experience, allowing users to focus on and be more immersed in the site’s content. Elements of each website are integrated into the browser. If a site is pinned to the taskbar, when the site is launched, the navigational controls integrate the site’s icon and primary color. One Box. One Box gives users a single place to start whether they want to navigate to a specific site or search for a site. One Box in Internet Explorer 9 incorporates search functionality into the address bar. With One Box, users can: navigate to a site, search for a site, switch between search providers, or access browsing history, Favorites, or suggestions from search providers. The privacy of the keystrokes that users enter into One Box is an important part of Internet Explorer 9. Users are in control of what information gets shared with search providers. For example, users control whether or not they receive search suggestions from a selected search provider as they type in One Box. If they choose to turn on search suggestions, the text they type in One Box gets sent to the search provider as they type it (instead of when they finish typing and press enter).Address Bar Top Result. Another new feature that speeds browsing is Address Bar Top Result. Address Bar Top Result helps users who have a hard time remembering the web address for common websites (such as Bank of America or American Express) by taking them directly to the top results of their search without first displaying the search results page. For this behavior to work, the Address Bar Top Result service must be enabled by the search provider. For more information on features that put the focus on web applications and provide a clean browsing experience, see the Consumer, Developer, or IT Professional sections later in this guide.Pinned Sites. With Pinned Sites, a user's favorite websites can be accessed directly from the Windows taskbar without having to first open the browser. In Internet Explorer 8, we provided an easy way to access sites through Web Slices on the Favorites Bar. Because users wanted their sites still more readily available, we’re introducing Pinned Sites in Internet Explorer 9 so that users can bring their favorite sites into the Windows taskbar to make access even more efficient. Users can pin sites to the taskbar by dragging the thumb pin icon from One Box to the taskbar. When a pinned site is launched from the taskbar, the browser frame and navigational controls integrate the site’s icon and primary color, emphasizing the site and providing an even more site-focused experience.Tear-off Tabs and Windows Aero Snap. Users often need to use more than one website or page to accomplish a task. Tearing off a tab by dragging it away from the browser is easy and then a user can…Jumplists. Jump Lists take users right to the websites they use every day. They’re a quick and easy to way to visit frequently visited websites without first opening Internet Explorer. For example, a user may frequent a particular online bookstore and may always start with her wishlist. To open the Internet Explorer 9 Jump List, users can right-click the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar. They’ll see their pinned websites, as well as the sites that they visit often. There’s also access to start InPrivate Browsing, open new tabs, or close a window.Any website that’s pinned to the taskbar also has a Jump List. What’s seen in each of these Jump Lists depends on each website, but all of them include InPrivate Browsing, opening the site, unpinning the site, and closing the window. Some websites that are pinned to the taskbar have additional controls. When a user hovers over a thumbnail for a website in the taskbar, they may see things like playback controls, similar to the controls in Windows 7 for Windows Media Player.Thumbnail preview controls. Thumbnail preview controls available on the Windows 7 taskbar provide quick navigation to the sites that users want to visit. From the Internet Explorer 9 Jump List, users can access frequently visited sites, as well as perform Internet Explorer tasks including starting an InPrivate® Browsing session and opening a new tab. When a site is pinned to the Windows taskbar, users can simply click on the pinned site’s thumbnail and access the site without having to first open their browser. All notifications now appear in the Notification Bar at the bottom of the browser. Messages in the Notification Bar are clearer and do a better job explaining to the user what they need to know. For example, instead of receiving the message “Internet Explorer is not responding,” the user receives the message “The website is not respondingNew tab page. Internet Explorer 9 uses Windows Direct User Interface (DUI) to create a graphical new tab page that loads quickly and features crisp graphics. We know that when users create a new tab, their intent is to navigate. Internet Explorer 9 focuses on making this experience fast by visually suggesting the sites you want to visit. The new tab page displays tiles for the sites that users visit frequently, to help get users where they want to go quickly and without hesitation. Each site is represented by a tile with a large favicon and a title, and users can track their browsing habits with a meter on each tile. From the new tab page, users can also reopen closed tabs, reopen their last browsing session, and start an InPrivate Browsing session.Optimized navigation controls: Designed to highlight only the controls that people use most, the navigational controls in Internet Explorer 9 are simplified. Because modern websites include much of the functionality that browsers had in the past, the new browser frame emphasizes the controls that are necessary for browsing, with customizations available to show more controls. The back button is one of the most used controls. In Internet Explorer 9 we’ve made access to it easy, making the Back button larger than in previous versions and placing it in the top-left corner of the window. The address bar and search box are combined into one, new address bar (called One Box), and the Tools menus are consolidated into a single drop-down menu. Only the functionality necessary for a modern browsing experience is shown.IE9 TRUSTED:While InPrivate Browsing is active, the following takes place:New cookies are not stored All new cookies become “session” cookies Existing cookies can still be read The new DOM storage feature behaves the same way New history entries will not be recorded New temporary Internet files will be deleted after the Private Browsing window is closed Form data is not stored Passwords are not stored Addresses typed into the address bar are not stored Queries entered into the search box are not stored Visited links will not be stored Malware:Internet Explorer 8 continues to lead in malware & phishing protection even as competitors continue to ship new versions. We are the only browser by investing in the best data available for identifying in malware. We continue to invest in our backend to improve catch efficiencyInternet Explorer sees a tremendous scale of protection for customers:IE passed more than 1 billion Malware blocks on July 5thMay & June saw more than 100 million blocks / monthLifetime phishing protection across IE7 + IE8 is around 160 million blocks Add-on Performance Advisor. Building on the feature in Internet Explorer 8 that exposed add-on load time, Add-on Performance Advisor notifies users when add-ons are slowing down their browsing session. Internet Explorer 9 sets a default threshold of 0.2 seconds, but the user can change the default value. Add-on Performance Advisor shows load times for each add-on, so users can see how each add-on impacts their browsing experience when they launch the browser, or open a new tab.Download Manager. More and more users are downloading files from the web, and users have been clamoring for a way to more easily download and manage those files. Internet Explorer 9 provides an integrated Download Manager that includes a streamlined user interface and provides great security for downloaded content. The new Download Manager replaces the Run, Save As, or Cancel box used in earlier versions of Internet Explorer. With the new user interface, users can easily view download progress, open content that they've downloaded, or cancel a download that is in progress. A default folder is used for all downloaded content, so users can also change the default download destination folder, as well as search the folder for a previous download. Since file downloads are the primary way for malicious sites to push malware onto user’s computers, Download Manager makes several security-related checks on downloads:Scans for viruses.Verifies that an executable comes from a trusted source using WinVerifyTrust.Interoperable1. Same markup: goal is to enable future web experiences while supporting the present & past websites: Same markup = HTML5 support Compatibility ModeWhen we talk about “same mark-up”, we really mean one major thing. We want the mark up your write, to work the same way, and the right way in every browser. The example you see on the screen shows Internet Explorer 9 Platform Preview compared to Chrome 4. Both have a dashed border, as well as a rounded corners via the CSS3 border-radius property. In Internet Explorer 9, the dashes are the same width all the way around the border, and equal spacing between them. Chrome’s dashes seem a little random. In Firefox 3.6, this works a little better, except in the corners, there are no dashes – it’s just solid line. The same markup means the code you write works the same way, and the right way, in every browser! It’s not enough to just make sure we’re implementing the features and specification that you want. We’re working directly with the W3C to make sure that the specifications that are written are clear and strong. That we can figure out the ambiguities early, before implementation and that everyone has a voice at the table. The Internet Explorer engineering team is well integrated into many different working groups on the W3C, including the HTML5 working group (where Paul Cotton, a Microsoft employee is a co-chair), the SVG Working Group, and many more.Just to give you an idea of who is involved in a working group, I’ve got a few stats from the HTML Working Group. There are over 40 W3C member organizations, more than 400 participants, 280 invited experts, 9 mailing lists. It’s a big, but very important group!Working with the W3C also includes working on testing task forces so that there is an interoperable test suite that all browser vendors can agree upon. For example, we’re on the SVG Testing Taskforce, HTML Testing Taskforce, and Accessibility Testing Taskforce.
8. Internet Explorer 9 helps you control the files you download so they won’t harm your computer or disrupt the performance of the browser.New in Internet Explorer 9, the Download Manager provides you with the status of downloads, a secure area for downloaded files, and the final location where downloads are stored.Add-ons Advisor identifies add-ons that may be slowing down the browser and gives you the information you need to disable or fix it, directly from the Notification Bar itself. Load times for each add-on are shown, so that you can see how each add-on impacts your browsing experience each time you launch Internet Explorer 9 or open a new tab. As a result, right out of the box and over time, Internet Explorer 9 helps you control the add-ons that you install.
9. Internet Explorer 8 continues to lead in malware & phishing protection even as competitors continue to ship new versions. The SmartScreen URL filter continues to be a key user safety investment in Internet Explorer 9. Since the launch of Internet Explorer 8, SmartScreen has blocked over 1 billion malware as of August 2010 and phishing attacks and continues to block between 3 and 5 million attacks each day. Lifetime phishing protection across IE7 + IE8 is around 160 million blocks. And the rate of IE blocks is 3x that of Firefox and 5x that of Chrome. We are committed to continuously improving our intelligence systems and processes so we can continue to provide industry leading protection from phishing and malware.
