2. Why me God?
I wonder how often we raise our
voices to shout out these words
when in pain.
3. How often have we questioned;
why God? Why me Lord? Why my
children? Why did you allow this
to happen? Why this sickness?
Why will you not heal me?
Why? Why? Why?
4. There are a thousand WHYS that
snugly fit into a thousand
reasons why we cry out in such
a way to God.
5. We know God cares and we are sure
that he hears and answers prayer
otherwise we would simply not
bother to seek his help.
7. However with every 'WHY ME' comes
an underlying accusation that
quietly says; you could have
stopped this, why will you not
heal me? Why did you cause this
to happen to me?
8. During a recent bout of illness I
found myself asking, Lord why,
why me? I got the answer this
morning just a few days 'after’
he had healed me…
12. Why Lord, why would you forgive
all my iniquities and heal all
my diseases?
13. Why pick me out Lord, why would
you redeem my life from
destruction and crown me with
loving kindness and tender
mercies?
14. Why me Lord, why would you want
to satisfy my mouth with good
things so that my youth is
renewed like the eagle?
15. Why would you execute judgement
for me when I am oppressed and
treated unfairly, why on earth
would you want to make known your
ways and your acts unto me?
16. Why God, why me Lord; why would
you be merciful and gracious to
me? Why would you be slow to
anger and plenteous in mercy
toward me?
18. Why me my God, why me? How is it
that you don't always accuse,
rebuke and contend with me? How
is it that youre not angry with
me all the time?
19. Why Lord? Why have you not
punished me according to my
sins? Why have you not rewarded
me according to my iniquities?
20. Why God, why are your mercy
and your loving kindness so
great toward me when I fear,
worship and honour you?
21. Why Lord? Why would you want to
remove my transgressions as far
as the east is from the west
from me ?
22. Why dear God why? Why do you
pity me as a father pities his
children? Is it that you know my frame
that I am dust, that my days are as
grass, as a flower of the field,
here today, gone tomorrow?
24. Why Lord? Why is your mercy
toward me from everlasting to
everlasting and your righteousness
unto my children's children?
25. This sets the WHY in
its rightful place,
doesn't it?
26. Why on earth would God care for
us at all? Why would he consider
us, sick or not? In poverty or
plenty, why would he heal us,
forgive and save us, why?
27. ‘Can a woman forget her sucking
child, that she should not have
compassion on the son of her womb?
Yes, they may forget, (be
oblivious to you) yet will I not
forget you.’
28. ‘Behold, I have graven, (I have
indelibly imprinted, tattooed a
picture of) you upon the palms
of my hands; your walls (of
protection) are continually before
me.’ Isaiah 49:15-16 (AMP)
30. Its about giving thanks rather
than complaining, its about
living in wonder at your
goodness and mercy…
31. Its about realizing that no matter
what we go through in life, be it
sickness, pain or poverty, be it
death itself, Gods love will bring
us through to victory.
32. ‘Bless the LORD, you his angels
that excel in strength, that do
his commandments, hearkening
unto the voice of his word’…
33. Bless you the LORD, all you his
hosts; you ministers of his that
do his pleasure…
34. ‘Bless the LORD, all his works in all
places of his dominion: bless the
LORD, O my soul’
Psalm 103:20-22
35. ‘I will bless the Lord at all times, his
praise shall continually be in my
mouth’
Psalm 34:1
36. Why? Because he loves me enough
to keep forgiving me when I
complain and shout; Why Me God?
Why? because he first loved me…
37. Why? Because he loved me
enough to be punished for my sin
and to die in my place…
38. Why? For he was wounded for my
transgressions, bruised for my
iniquities and chastised to buy me
peace, and by his stripes he bought
me perfect soundness of health…
Isaiah 53:5
39. Why? Because Gods highest wish
for me is that I prosper and be in
perfect soundness of health, mind,
soul and body even as my soul
prospers
