He graduated in 1932. He did not want to
go to university afterwards, even though
his mother offered to pay for the tuition.
5. Inspiration
When Dahl was 13, he went to a
Repton Public school. This school was
harsh and cruel to the students.
However, the happiest memory he has
of that time was when the chocolate
company Cadbury sent boxes of
chocolate to the school. This memory
gave Roald the idea for his most famous
novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
