This document contains a collection of family photos with descriptions provided by B.J. Foley. It describes their single parent family structure, with B.J. currently living with their mother and younger sister. Several extended family members including an aunt, cousin, and sister's husband have played important mentorship and father figure roles in B.J.'s life after the loss of their father in 2007. The photos depict close relationships between siblings, successful marriages, and value of open communication within the family.

2. This is a photo from left to right of my mother, my younger sister, my older
sister, her husband, my cousin Maria, me, my cousin Jen and my Aunt
Jody. My family type would be classified as a single parent family. I
currently live with my mother and younger sister.

3. This is a picture of my Aunt Jody
and my cousin Maria. She is my
mother’s sister and has always
been like a second mom to me.
We are extremely close and see
each other on a regular basis. My
cousin Maria has been a mentor
for me to lean on in recent years
and a big part of my life.

father, my older sister
and her husband Steve.
My dad passed away in
2007 and Steve and I
developed a very close
relationship. To this day
Steve still plays the role
of “father figure” in my
life.

two sisters and I. Our
relationship with each
other is very strong
and I felt after losing
my dad it was my
responsibility to look
out for both of them.

6. This picture is of my mom and my cousins boyfriend. He has been a part of
my family for many years now. He is always the life of the party and a great
addition to our group. We all consider him family and are very happy he is in
our lives.

7. This is my older sister and I
on her wedding day. I had the
responsibility of walking her
down the aisle. This was a
difficult day for my whole
family without having my dad
around but it’s a memory that I
cherish and will never forget.

8. This picture is of my older sister Katie
and her husband Steve. They take
great pride in their marriage and are
the type of family I hope to portray
when I get married. I feel their
relationship has been as successful as
it is due in great part to their ability to
work through difficulties. They are
always upfront and honest with each
other and the lines of communication
are always open.

9. This picture is of my
cousin Maria and
cousin Jeff. Along
with my sister’s
husband Steve, Jeff
has also been a father
figure for me growing
up. I often call him for
advice and lean on
him for moral
support.
