connected to His crucifixion. Together, they
constitute the central doctrine of the New
Testament, without which, there could be
no hope of eternal life. While the death of

Everyone wants to go to heaven. Even
if it’s only the heaven of their imagination,
they are drawn to some hope of a future
paradise. Secular man wants a heaven on
earth. That which has always been thought
of as “up,” he would bring “down” to earth.
As we shall see, they are not thinking of
direction, but dimension.

a high degree of strangeness. It concerns a
physician, a certain Duncan MacDougall,

that he became obsessed with the question
