Ministry Ventures Calling and History
Our calling resides in Paul’s exhortations to Timothy, “Train up faithful men…” and “Stir up the gift of God within
you….” These exhortations have compelled us to serve others in this fashion.
1998 The Ministry Ventures™ (MV) concept was birthed through the partnership of Mike Kendrick, Eric
Swartz, and Boyd Bailey.
1999 MV incubated its first ministry: Lighthouse Family Retreat.
2000 to
2005
MV was incorporated as a nonprofit. The first full-time staff member was hired, and we began
incubating new and early stage ministries. By God’s grace, 15 ministries were started.

Present
Developed an introductory seminar for ministry leaders and their board chairs, and developed and
established Ministry Mastery™ certification. During this time, 255 ministries attended a seminar
and 65 ministries began Ministry Mastery™.
Began national expansion with Regional Consultants. Trained over 250 leaders and 40 ministries
began Ministry Mastery™. Certified all 15 ministries that participated in Group Coaching offering
with NCF South Florida. Began partnership with FCA to provide specialized fundraising training in
multiple regions. Launched pastoral executive coaching offering.
Developing On-line offering for Ministry Mastery Certification. Expected launch fall of 2014.
Ministry Ventures Prayer Strategy
• The prayer team coordinator facilitates monthly meetings and communicates immediate prayer needs.
• The prayer team is led by Beth Bennett, who creates our prayer team agenda to guide each monthly meeting.
• The board role of Spiritual Director (Larry Green) serves to encourage the ministry’s dependance on the Lord.
Ministry Ventures Ministry Model
• We collaborate with local ministry affiliates including local foundations, churches, ministries and businesses that
will support MV in their cities and introduce ministry leaders to MV services.
• We establish a city presence through introductory training events and regional affiliate partnerships.
• We now offer five distinct programs to help ministries and churches: Premium Coaching, Executive Group
Coaching, Pastoral Coaching, Specialized Fundraising Trainings and Consulting Solutions.

Program Evaluation – We have implemented a Pre, Post and Follow-Up evaluation process to evaluate the 15 key
Certification checkpoints for Ministry Mastery Certification, which provides clear and measureable mission impact.
Expansion Goals include:
• Expansion to have major ministry presence in three additional cities by 2014.
• Expansion and relationship building in Chattanooga and Johnson City, TN
• Online delivery launch to reach 1000 ministries/year.
