2. In our first Photography lesson, we learnt about the
different camera shots and angles.Then, we were
asked to take different photos using those shots and
angles.
Here are the pictures of the different camera shots
and angles that I took:
3. Extreme Wide Shot: The view is so far from the subject that the subject isn’t even
visible. This shot is usually used to show the subject’s surroundings.

4. Wide Shot: This shot shows the entire object or human figure and is usually intended to place
it in some relation to its surroundings.

5. Medium Shot: This shot shows some part of the subject in more detail whilst still giving an
impression of the whole subject. This shot is usually captured from the waist up and is the
common shot.

6. Medium Long Shot: Also known as a three-quarters shot. It frames the whole subject
from the knees up. An intermediate shot between the long shot and the medium shot.

7. Close-Up: This is a type of shot which tightly frames a person or an object. A certain
feature or part of the subject is focused upon, usually the face.

8. Medium Close-up: The medium close up is half way between a mid shot and a close up.
This shot shows the face more clearly, without getting uncomfortably close.

9. Macro Shot: is an extreme close-up photo, usually of very small subjects.
10. Point-of-View Shot (P.O.V): is an angle which records the scene from a particular player’s
viewpoint.

11. Low angle: is a shot from a camera angle positioned low on the vertical axis, anywhere
below the line, looking up.

12. High angle: is a cinematic technique where the camera looks down on the subject from a
high angle and the point of focus often gets “swallowed up”.

13. Eye level: A fairly neutral shot; the camera is positioned as though it is a human actually
observing a scene.

14. Canted angle: is a camera angle which is deliberately slanted to one side, sometimes used
for dramatic effect.

15. Worm’s eye angle: is a view of the subject from below, as though the observer is a worm.
