The Present Perfect (have/has + past participle) a) Radnjakoja je počela u prošlosti i traje u trenutkugovorenja: We have known each other for years. I’ve lived here for 10 years. b) Svršenjaradnja, alivremenski period u kojem se dogodilajošuvektraje: (this year, this summer…) Have you done much work today? I’ve been to the cinema twice this week. It has been very cold this winter. c) Iskustvo: Have you ever eaten snails? Have you ever been to China? Have you ever tried sushi? d) Odredbe: just, already, since, yet, ever I haven’t eaten anything since breakfast.

I bought this dress in Belgrade. What did you do yesterday? I saw my friend last Sunday. You watched TV last night. The Past Continuous Tense (was/were + verb ing) a) Prošlaradnjakoja je bila u tokukada se dogodiladrugaradnja: When I arrived home the children were watching TV. It was still raining when I came in.

When she returned home, she remembered that she had forgotten to buy coffee. I had studied English before I came to England. When they arrived to the station, the train had left. The Past Perfect Continuous Tense (had + been + verb ing) Prošlaradnjakoja je trajaladuževremena pre negošto se drugaprošlaradnjadogodila: I had been walking for five hours before I saw the first house. It had been raining for hours the day before we came. I had been waiting for hours before the bus arrived. She had been reading a book for an hour before she remembered that she had to go shopping.
