2. Introduction We think sexting is okay if the people are just sexting sexually suggestive messages. But when people start sexting semi-nude to nude pictures of themselves that’s when we think sexting could be dangerous to the person sexting. Also we think that sexting should just be for fun and nothing more.
3. Rationale for exploring sexting Our reasons for exploring sexting is it’s a interesting topic to learn about. We wanted to see the statistics on teenage sexting. We wanted to know why its being enforced by the law. We want to find out if teens know what they’re doing when they’re sexting. Also we explore sexting because we wanted to see the research on sexting. Lastly we wanted to find out the percentages of people sexting.
4. Research on Topic According to “Teens and “Sexting” Exploring sexuality is normal and a natural part of growing up. The Danger of sexting lies in the transmission of the images and videos for several reasons. The first reason is that it’s a legal issue. Sending sexually-explicit depictions of people under 18 is a felony in all 50 states, even if the sender is also the subject. Another thing is receiving such media is also illegal. As a result, sexting carries with it the possibility of being charged as a sex offender or child pornographer. Sexting can lead to harassment, embarrassment and worse. Kids should understand that anything can happen to them no matter how much they think they can trust their friends with their sexts. On ABV News recently there was a report on a group of six teenagers who faced felony charges for sharing semi-nude photos of a female classmate.
