However, if you just can’t work your way out around those wires, then here is the bare minimum that you need to know before buying a wireless headset.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING A WIRELESS HEADSET

  1. 1. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE BUYING A WIRELESS HEADSET! The decision that one needs to buy a wireless headset itself is a difficult one. You need to think it through as a wireless headset costs around thrice as much as a normal headset. However, if you just can’t work your way out around those wires, then here is the bare minimum that you need to know before buying a wireless headset: 1. Type – There are two types of wireless headsets – the Bluetooth one and the one based on DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology). The Bluetooth one is costlier than the DECT one but the advantage with the latter is that it gives a better performance in a larger area. The Bluetooth one, though, is preferred by many as it gives the option of pairing your mobile with it and gives you more mobility. 2. Hardware Compatibility – Once you decide the type of wireless technology that you prefer, you need to ensure that the hardware that you will be using it with is as per compatible standards. For instance, if you go for the Bluetooth one and you want to use it with your computer, then your computer must have the required Bluetooth support. Spending so much money and then realizing that you can’t use it is something you can avoid. 3. Price and performance – These two have been clubbed together because it has been mostly observed that very cheap products do not give the performance you require. This does not mean that all high priced products perform superbly but going for a reputed brand ensures that if performance deteriorates, you can rely on their after sales service. Another important aspect of performance to look for in a wireless headset is the extent of noise cancelling. You do not want the surrounding noise to disturb you but at the same time you want to hear that horn of the car just behind you on the road. A delicate balance is necessary.
