2. The Horse Ride by
Annabel Sheila
Taking a romantic ride today,
We sat upon the wagon.
Suddenly the horse lifted his tail
And we heard a roaring dragon!
The deafening sound hurt my ears
And the smell burned the hairs in my nose.
My girlfriend sat and glared at me.
Somehow my fault I suppose.
It was my idea to take the ride,
But how was I to know?
It really wasn’t in my plans;
Didn’t know the horse would blow.
The noise and the smell were bad enough,
As the wind blew quickly by.
But I think the very worst of it,
Was the brown stuff in my eye.
My girlfriend’s face turned angry red.
So I figured I wouldn’t dare,
Advise her of the smelly pieces
Of horse stuff in her hair.
The horse finally stopped; my girl ran away,
Stubbornly lifting her chin.
I think that horse was enjoying himself,
Cause I’m sure I saw him grin.
A lesson learned for me today.
Although I must confess,
I laughed so hard I nearly cried
As I wiped away the mess.
3. I find this poem very funny and
entertaining for the reasons being that it
talks about something that wasn’t
supposed to happen.
4. A Night With My Lady by
Jared M. Stein
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
I run one hand up her long neck
Just touching her makes me euphoric
Across her body, my right hand goes
I've been practicing, believe me, it shows.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
Another deep breath, the tension mounts
Have to stay focused, every moment counts
I am ready lets get movin'
Here it goes, we both start groovin'.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
I start out slow to get in the swing
As I do she starts to sing
The sounds and feelings grow more immense
The movements, become more intense.
Her body glistens in the light
I urge to play with her all night
I pick her up and hold her steady
Take a deep breath, we both are ready.
She screams and screams, while I am gropin'
My heart stops as I see the door open
My mom walks in and with a frown
Says, Your guitar is too loud, please turn it down.
6. The Poem I Did Not Wish To
Write by Sahana
did not wish to write this poem,
But it would not leave me be.
Throughout the night,
Throughout the day,
No matter what, it would not go away.
I did not wish to write this poem,
But it took over me.
Forced my hand to pen it down,
My brain to think of nothing else,
Until it was done, I knew no rest.
I did not wish to write this poem,
But here it is before me.
The ghost that possessed me laid to rest.
These last lines are the final rites,
For the poem I did not wish to write.
7. I wouldn’t describe this poem as funny
because it talks about someone who was
too lazy to write a poem but I can relate.
Because sometimes I don’t feel like doing
things but it has to be done.
8. Mail Box Blues by Joan St Cyr
My proud little mailbox stood upright and tall.
No mailboxes on the street could compare, none at all.
Till one day the blue demon was backing in reverse, I stood by the window watching the
upcoming curse.
Slowly I screamed as I saw what was to become, my proud little mailbox would soon come
undone.
BAM, blue demon had gave it a whack, oh the horror the pain of witnessing this attack.
Little do I know the anguish that would be for she got out of the demon and stared straight
up at me.
For she did not know I was watching the scene, she had not heard me let out my terrible
scream.
She examined my mailbox without a regret, and the story is soon to get better yet.
I saw her leap into the demon to drive ahead, leaving my mailbox all limp and half dead.
No regret! No Sorrow! for my poor mass of metal!..
As if she was born and raised in a ghetto!
So hear my story and please be aware if blue demon comes around your mailbox might not
be there!!!!
Signed,
Mailbox Blues

10. Pigheaded Pete by Louise
Michelle
Pigheaded Pete was an obstinate fool,
who argued no matter the topic,
shredding opinions with outrageous drool,
and anger that bordered psychotic.
While most folks ignored him or called him a jerk,
and shrugged off his need to be right,
on one night Pete drove Bill O'Reilly berserk,
who challenged our Pete to a fight.
Now Bill was a boxer when he was much younger,
and knew how to throw a good punch.
Outside where he dragged the poor twit with his anger,
young Peter's incisors went crunch.
Bill got real nervous when Pete called the coppers,
and shortly a lawsuit ensued.
He had no money to buy Pete new choppers,
and so Judge Alfredo was shrewd.
Judge sentenced the boxer to ten months of labor
inside Peter’s house day and night.
And Bill had to listen to rubbish and blather,
to pigheaded Pete's great delight

12. My Freaking Alarm by
Demecia Dean
As I lay cozy all snug in my bed
I enjoy the imagination inside my head
Until I hear racked beside my bed
It's my 5:00 alarm!
I quickly silent you, you annoying alarm
Then we SNOOZE together and let dreams carry on
Enjoying the peace then I'll be darned
It's my 5:15 reminder!
Now I hush the ringing of my reminder
Ok Alarm let's put that behind us
Eyes just shut but here goes that timer
It's 7:20 I'm late!!!
13. I picked this poem because I think its
pretty funny and I can also relate to
having troubles waking up to my alarm
and snoozing it.
14. Orange by Jeff Opperman
Now see the beautiful sunset ore the ocean blue
Fiery colors due abound of poems there are a few
I wish that I could write one, about that perfect hue
But nothing rhymes with Orange
Orchards stretch for miles, they never seem to stop
There nectar baring fruit is one that’s hard to top
A fruit that justifies a sonnet, but might as well be rock
But nothing rhymes with Orange
How do I describe a basketball?
Or the bricks within my garden wall
The autumn leaves before they fall
But nothing rhymes with Orange
So the hardest line you’ll ever write
One to keep you up all night
So please tell if you might
What the hell rhymes with ORANGE?
15. This poem made me laugh because it
exaggerate the struggle to find a word to
rhyme with “orange”. He stresses over and
over again but still cant seem to find a
word.
16. Picture Perfect by Annabel
Sheila
She stood there by the ocean,
The breeze gently lifted her hair.
Of that seagull just above her,
She was totally unaware.
Seemingly floating in the sky,
The seagull’s wings were still.
I think it paused to take good aim,
And drop a mess at will.
Too late she looked above her head,
Where the seagull hovered now.
Then as I watched in horror,
Bird droppings hit her brow.
Her scream pierced the balmy air.
Splat! The stuff hit her face.
Then she saw my camera and me,
And stomped off in disgrace.
17. I like that this poem is short and sweet. Its
amusing to me because it starts off with a
serene feeling of the beach and slowly
turns out to that a seagull ends up
pooping on the victim. and what makes it
more funny is that it was a photo shoot.
18. Monkey In The Middle by
Sawyer Sewell
There once was a monkey in a city’s zoo,
who dreamed of the outside sun.
He did like hitting kids with poo,
but he felt that that’s been done.
So he climbed out in the middle of night,
and explored through the cities streets.
He stopped when it was turning light
And felt he wanted to eat.
That poor monkey needed cash
to afford his exotic meals.
But his stomach led him to the trash,
where he ate a cube of butter and apple peels.
If he wanted to eat, he needed a job,
to pay for the food on his tummy.
So he asked many snobs,
but each time he left without money.
He tried to be an actor,
but found out he couldn't sing or cry.
He had the smarts to be a politician,
but found out he couldn't lie.
None one wanted his application.
No one gave him a chance.
Some were scared because he was from another nation.
Other because he didn’t own pants.
He only found one job,
that paid food and shelter instead of wages.
All he was asked to do,
was to sit inside steel cages,
and dream of the outside sun.
19. I really like this poem because it starts off
the story wth a monkey that escaped his
cage at a zoo and went to look for a job
so he can buy food. He ended up right
back in the zoo because they gave him
shelter and food to eat.
20. I Love You/I Hate You by
Christina
You're the love of my life and the cause of my strife
You dirty cigarette
I've made many mistakes in my many days
But you are my one regret
You wooed me with words like relaxing and cool
And I believed it like a silly fool
Now I'm all wheezy, spluttering and choking
All because of the ciggies I'm smoking.
You had me hooked on the very first try
And I love you but I'll hate you till I die
And that day will come more soon than late
If we continue this affair where my lungs are a state
Yes even though it will break my heart
The time has come for us to part
So long my slim and smoldering friend
This is it, this is the end
No more smelly puffs for me
You are now stubbed out and I am free
21. This poem is entertaining because it talks
about someone overcoming their
cigarrette smoking addiction in a regretful
manner. It constantly reminds the reader
how dumb ciggarettes are and how
dumb the person is to let it take over their
life.
