The IB & OSSD
1. Two diplomas, but not two times the workload.
2. Programmes complement each other nicely.
3. OSSD provides much of the content, the IB
provides the framework for assessment.
4. The IB offers the MYP Personal Project,
TOK, Extended Essay, and CAS.
5. Both programmes are recognized worldwide.

The MYP at CDNIS
Students moving into Grade 9, will progress into Year 4 of the MYP.
Grade 9 students will continue to develop skills in the areas of:
•Information Literacy
•Research and Writing
•Communication
•Self-management
•Collaboration

CDNIS MYP CERTIFICATES
MYP Certificates will be awarded at the end of Grade 10 (MYP
Year 5) to
each student who:
1. Participates in years 4 and 5 of the programme.
2. Meets the academic and behavioural standards of both the MYP & CDNIS.
3. Successfully completes all 8 subject groups including two years of Language
B.
4. Earns a total of 36 from the nine subjects.
5. Earns at least a grade of 2 in at least one subject from each subject group.
6. Earns at least a grade of 3 on the MYP Personal Project.
7. Meets the expectations of Community & Service to the satisfaction of the
school.
There are no exit exams required for the certificate.

CDNIS MYP CERTIFICATES
What if my child does not qualify to earn the
CDNIS MYP certificate?
Students may:
- earn a record of achievement
- be required to complete a programme of
academic reinforcement before starting the IB DP
(ie. summer school, tutoring, etc.)
- be affected by the school’s promotion policy
