- The most virulent cancer cell is the S180 used for research-sarcoma. They produce cytokines (toxic substances that destroy the envelopes of cells-in mice the form tumors that double every 10 hours, they invade tissues and destroy everthing, grow rapidly in the abdomen and lymph and form fluids call ascites which is an ideal environment for S180 cells, they grow rapidly until they break down major blod vessels and burst them. When S180 were injected into mice, they lived approximately one month-the mouse would produce antibodies which were extracted for more experiments. Looked at the NK cells of breast cancer patients and those that the NK cells did not respond to tumor cells , ½ of those died during the 12 year study.
