A sermon by Mike Smith This is a short study on the 23rd Psalm seeking to be God's faithful servant/sheep in His fold.

2. Introduction:
• As God’s people we are His
sheep. Psalm 95:6-7; 100:3
• Today we recognize Jesus as
The Good Shepherd! Jn. 10:11
• Jesus is our Great Shepherd who
leads and helps us! Heb.13:20-21
• As God’s precious sheep, have
you yet learned to lean on
Jesus?
• Let us see how we can do this!

3. We Can Lean Upon Him
As Our Supplier!
• We first must consider Him as
“My Shepherd!” Psalm 23:1
• As we look to God as our Lord we
must learn to see Him as our
provider! Ps. 37:25; 2 Cor. 9:10
• We know that He will provide us
with our necessary food. Mt. 6:11
• If we truly seek Him first we will
have this supply. Mt. 6:33

4. We Must Lean On Jesus
To Give Us Grace!
• We have a good place of grace
with the Lord. Psalm 23:2;
Ezekiel 34:14; Romans 5:1-2
• We have rest and peace with our
Shepherd. Rev. 7:17; Phil. 4:7
• Let us enjoy the grace and peace
in truth and love which being with
the Lord affords. 2 John 3;
Romans 16:24

5. Jesus Is Our Savior!
Acts 5:29-32
• The One who restores our soul.
Ps. 23:3; 51:12; Eph. 1:3-10
• The Shepherd who leads us in
the paths of righteousness!
Psalm 5:8
• For His name’s sake…
Psalm 148:13
–This leads to the praise of His
glory. Psalm 107:8

6. We Can Trust Him For
Protection!
• God is with us to watch over and
protect us. Psalm 23:4
• In times of trouble especially we
need not fear! Hebrews 13:5-6;
Matthew 10:28
• We should know that God shall
work it all out for good in the end.
Romans 8:31-32, 28
• This gives us comfort & strength!

7. For Peace In Conflict!
• We will have enemies trouble us.
Psalm 23:5; 2 Timothy 3:12
• But we can have peace through
these situations. John 16:33;
Phil. 4:7
• As Paul taught in all things we
can be humbled and abound
with contentment. Phil. 4:10-14
• All the while our cup is running
over! Galatians 6:9-10; Phil. 4:9

8. We Can Live Well Now
and Eternally!
• Jesus came to bring us abundant
life. Psalm 23:6; Jn. 10:10
–To those who hear and
follow/obey Him! Jn. 10:27-28
• Our life in the Shepherd – Christ
begins when we obey the gospel.
2 Tim. 2:10; Gal. 3:27; 1Jn.5:20
• Obey Him today… Heb. 5:9; Mk.
16:15-16; Acts 18:8; 8:37; 2:38
