"Technology is so much fun ... but we can drown in our technology. The FOG OF INFORMATION can drive out knowledge." -- Daniel J. Boorstin Daniel Boorstin was an historian -- much of his work dealt with social theory . I believe that Collaboration as commonly defined our workplace ... is an experiment in social theory .. and collaborative TECHNOLOGIES merely an extension of social theory. When I think of records management, the adjectives that come to mind are - crisp, structured, defined ... relationships based on taxonomies. So.. my question to you is... Can information derived through human collaboration and collaborative technologies have the qualities to be declared as a record? Or. as Boorstin suggests ... are we creating a fog of information?
