PHASES OF THE CLASS
ACTIVATION (Prerequisites ) DEVELOPMENT CONSOLIDATION
(Assessment of Student Learning)
Warm up: Game “Pass the ball”.-
Students have to pass a ball while
listening to the music. When the music
stops, the person with the ball has to say
the word shown on the picture or the
object which the teacher is showing him
or her. Once, the student speaks up, I will
prompt the rest of the class to repeat the
word already said.
As a whole class. The teacher will place the ball in
different positions: on the backpack, under the
backpack, in the backpack in order to present the
use of the prepositions. Every time the
preposition is mentioned, it has to be written on
the board to make a list of the prepositions of
place for the students to know the new words.
The teacher will ask the students where the ball
is and the whole class has to answer. For
example: Teacher: Where is the ball? Students: It
is under the table.
Strategy 25: THE CLOCK
Application: keep working on the same group
to share the edited sentences in order to
choose the most outstanding sentences to
present to the class.
Evaluation: Once ever group has presented
their most outstanding sentences, they have to
agree which sentences are the best to describe
the place where the classroom objects are.
2. Strategy 2. WORD MAP
Make a word map with the topic
“classroom objects”
Strategy 22. MIX / FREEZE / PAIRS
To answer questions using the classroom
objects: Where is the ruler? It is in the pencil
case.
Strategy 24: PROCESS OF CREATIVE WRITING
In groups of 5 students, they have to write
one sentence with the 6 prepositions of place
(on, in, under, in front of, above, under) plus
the classroom or school objects. Then pass
them out to each member of the group so
that your peers will be able to correct any
mistakes.
Rewrite the sentences based on your peers’
feedback.

INDICATORS
Warm up: Game: “Pass the ball”. Students have to pass a ball
while listening to the music. When the music stops, the person
with the ball has to say the word shown on the picture or the
object which the teacher is showing him or her. Once, the
student speaks up, I will prompt the rest of the class to repeat

Asking and answering
questions: Where is
the ball? It is under
the book.
Writing affirmative
sentences with the
prepositions of place
using the Pic-Tac-Tell
grid.
Students can
express where
the classroom
or school
objects are.
20 As a whole class. The teacher will place the ball in different
positions: on the backpack, under the backpack, in the
backpack. The teacher will ask the students where the ball is
and the whole class has to answer. For example: Teacher:
Where is the ball? Students: It is under the table.
As individuals. Students have to place some objects according
to the teacher’s instructions. Ex. The marker is in the pencil
case. The marker is under the pencil case.
20 In pairs, PIC-TAC-TELL strategy. Work with the grid to express
where the objects on the pictures are.
One student takes a card and has to make the question and
answer with the word on the picture. Where is the ruler? It is
under the desk., etc.
To find a partner I will apply the technique Simon says, to
switch positions. I will say Simon says: stand up; simon says:
stretch your arms and legs; Simon says, switch positions; Simon
says, sit down; Simon says, work with your classmate who is
closer to you.
