5. • My music magazine is influenced by Billboard and Q
magazine and do doesn’t have a specific genre. Therefore, if I
was to publish my magazine, it would make sense to use
Bauer Media because they publish Q magazine which is
similar to my magazine. However, the fact that Bauer Media
already has a music magazine with no specific genre which is
similar to mine, makes me think that I should use a different
publisher who has a gap in their market where my music
magazine would fit nicely. Therefore, I think that Immediate
Media would be a good publisher for my music magazine to be
published through because they don’t have a music magazine
which is non genre specific and so this would be offering the
publisher’s audience something new and bringing in new
customers. They have a classical music magazine which is for
40+ year olds and a pop magazine which is for 7-13 year olds’
therefore, they do not offer a music magazine which has an
age range of around 16-26 and so my magazine could widen
what Immediate Media offer and expand their amount of
customers. Egmont would not be relevant to my magazine as
it specialises specifically in children's magazines and my
magazine doesn't fit in with this.
