Greetings! Welcome to a new semester at PMU. I am Dr. Michael Dobe, head of the IT Department at PMU. I'm new to PMU like many of you. I am very grateful for this opportunity to speak with you today about the IT Services Offered to Students at PMU.
أنا عمر الغوير (مدير الحاسب الالي في جامعة الامير محمد بن فهد) ,كما قال الدكتور مايكل دوب (رئيس قسم تقنية المعلومات) بانه انضم حديثا الى جامعة الامير محمد بن فهد مثل الكثير منكم . كما هو سعيد , لهذه الفرصة للتحدث اليكم اليوم في خدمات التي ستقدمها تقنية المعلومات لطلبة الجدد جامعة الامير محمد بن فهد السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته , جامعة الامير محمد بن فهد ترحب بكم في هذا الفصل الجديد .
In order for your laptop to connect to the PMU Network, you need to enable your wifi adapter. When you scan the network for a wireless connection, you will get four choices. Please choose and connect to the student network. Detailed instructions are available in the handout from the IT Department. You will also need to have antivirus software to protect your laptop. Most PCs come with antivirus installed, but there are many free sites which offer antivirus. Free sites include Avast and AVG. Although we recommend paid sites because they offer regular updates and optimal protection, you can also use these free programs to achieve some protection.
لكي يتمكن جهاز الكمبيوتر للاتصال على شبكة الانترنت في جامعة الامير محمد يجب على الطالب فتح جهاز الاستقبال للشبكة اللاسلكية اولا ثم قم بمسح الشبكات اللاسلكية المتوفرة في الحرم الجامعي ثم ستظهر لك اربعة شبكات متوفرة ,الرجاء من الطلبة اختيار شبكة الطلبة student network . بالاظافة يجب ان يكون جهاز الطالب مجهز باحد برامج المضادة للفيروسات والتي عادة تاتي مجهزة بها ولكن بعض الاجهزة لا تاتي مع برنامج المضاد للفيروسات , وللحصول على هذه البرامج الرجاء زيارة مواقع المجانية التي تعرضها بدون مقابل مثل ال اي في جي او اي فازت , ولكن نحن نوصي طلابنا الحصول على برامج يقوم الطالب بشرائها لان هذه البرامج تقوم بالتحديث المستمر ضد الفيروسات المتجددة والحصول على حماية جهازك من التعرض لاي محاولة اختراق من قبل الفيروسات .
In order to access your e-mail account at PMU go to the main PMU web page which is www.pmu.edu.sa. In this menu at the top you will see a drop down where you can select your webmail. I'm going to go in and choose a sample account. Your e-mail account will be different than this, but this is an example of an account and a password that I will type in. It will let me log in to my e-mail account. Notice there are no items because it is a new account. And e-mail should be available to you once you are registered.

The IT Help Desk is there to serve you with your computing needs. The Help Desk is located in the middle of the campus in room number G037. Please come and visit the Help Desk for assistance between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM Saturday through Wednesday. Our help desk staff are awaiting your visit and look forward to helping you get the most out of IT resources at PMU.
. مكتب المساعدة لتقنية المعلومات هو عبارة عن شخص في تقنية المعلومات يقوم بخدمة الطلاب لايجاد الحلول التي يواجها الطالب في الحاسب الالي , يوجد هذا المكتب في وسط الحرم الجامعي رقم هذا المكتب 37 , الرجاء من الطلبة زيارة هذا المكتب للحصول على المساعدة المطلوبة من 8 ص ال الرابعة م خلال ايام الدوام من السبت الى الاربعاء, موظف الدعم الفني المتواجد في المكتب يتطلع قدما لخدمتكم في جامعة الامير محمد بن فهد
