Tweeting and Blogging History
Welcome to Week 1 of History 1302. I am Professor Michael Dobe, your instructor for this course. This week's History Blog is on the topic of "Tweeting and Blogging History." After my short introduction, you will need to review the background slides for this week's blog and then make your posting to the weekly blog topic for Week One under the discussion topics in the Blackboard course site. In the following slides you will see: 1. Prof. Michael Wesch's video on "Students Today." 2. Lee Lefever of Common Craft one on Blogs and the other on Twitter microbogs. After watching these short clips, you should have a better understanding of what bogs and Twitter are, We will be blogging every week, and I will be sending you reminders about your assignments via Twitter. At the end of the slide show, please go to http://twitter.com in your web browser. If you do not have a Twitter account already, you will need to create one. As soon as you have a Twitter account search for and subscribe to the user "professordobe" (one word). That's my Twitter name. Once you have subscribed to my feed, you can configure your account to send a message to your cell phone when I "tweet" assignment info and other helpful reminders. The basic info is in your syllabus on Blackboard, but a little reminder from the Professor from time to time can't hurt ...
