ROUTE : Oral, Eye drops, and suppository
DOSE : 25 -50 mg BD-TDS .
PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASS: NSAIDS ; non- selective COXinhibitors (indole derivatives)
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
It has potent anti inflammatory effect
It is highly potent inhibitor of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis
It inhibits the migration of neutrophils to inflamed area

In toxic doses it uncouples oxidative phosphorylation

Acute gout
Psoriatic arthritis
ADVERSE EFFECTS :
GIT : gastric irritation, nausea, anorexia, GI bleeding, diarrhoea
CNS : frontal headache,dizziness, ataxia, mental confusion, hallucination, depression and
psychosis
Leucopenia, rashes,hypersensitivity reactions
Increased bleeding due to decreased platelet aggregability
CONRAINDICATION :
Epileptic patients
Psychiatric patients
Patients with renal disease, pregnant women, and in children .
