Mission
The National Black MBA Association leads in the creation of educational
opportunities and economic growth for African Americans by:

• Providing innovative programs to stimulate their intellectual and economic growth

• Building partnerships with key stakeholders who help facilitate this growth

• Increasing awareness and facilitating access to graduate management education
  programs and career opportunities in management fields

       (LOT)
Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) is a year-round educational and
mentorship initiative designed to increase academic achievement,
professional development, college preparation, community service and
cultural awareness by guiding African-American high school students
through a structured program of training and leadership activities

Student Outreach

MBA Connects
Connects seasoned professionals with area MBA students. The goal is to
develop mentoring relationships where MBA students will obtain valuable
career advice from professionals looking to lend their business expertise

Scholarship Program
In 2011, Student Outreach provided 12 scholarships for LOT,
undergraduate and graduate students in partnership with George
Washington University and Capital One

Scholarship & Awards Gala
Provides an opportunity to recognize our scholarship recipients, LOT
students, corporate partners, and members that have demonstrated
unyielding support to the chapter throughout the year.

Wealth Building
    Series (WBS)
The Wealth Building Series (WBS) is a comprehensive set of
workshops designed to strengthen the economic and intellectual wealth
of the Chapter’s community. WBS workshops have impacted over 500
participants since the program’s inception in 2002

General Body Meetings provide professional development opportunities
for our membership. They also provide the ideal opportunity to meet
face to face with talented MBA professionals seeking career
opportunities with your company.

  relationships and networks of renowned speakers and presenters at
  a reduced rate.

East Region Retreat


• Leadership development training for Chapters in the NBMBAA East
  Region.

• The 2012 East Region Retreat will be held in Washington, D.C. in
  November 2012.

• Approximately 50 attendees and members of NBMBAA HQ Staff are
  scheduled to attend.

• The 2011 Retreat was held in Atlantic City, NJ. Our partners were
  State Farm and PNC Bank.

                            ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Community
    Consulting Clinic
Community Consulting Clinic (CCC) provides consulting services to
current or aspiring entrepreneurs whose level of financial resources
makes it difficult to solicit professional business advice. CCC supports
2-4 member consulting teams that assist entrepreneurs. Over a 3
month period, CCC consulting teams meet with an assigned
entrepreneur and assist in implementing business ideas.

Services offered by CCC teams may include but are not limited to:

       Market surveys
       Budgeting/accounting advice
       Advertising strategy
       IT evaluation

• Provides local entrepreneurs:
   – A platform to promote products and services
   – Opportunity to build relationships with other vendors

• As a partner, you will receive:
   – Access to future business partners
   – Recognition as sponsor on event correspondence

   – Opportunity to make opening and closing remarks

Strokes FORE Scholarships is our annual golf event that supports the
scholarship program for our Leaders of Tomorrow, undergraduate and

Annual Giving
      Campaign
Overview
The Annual Giving Campaign was created to increase funds in support
of professional development programs for the general membership and
for the Leaders of Tomorrow high school mentorship program. The
Campaign provides Chapter members and supporters a venue to make
tax deductible contribution to the organization.

Matching Contributions
As a partner of the Annual Giving Campaign, your organization would
provide a matching contribution to the campaign for each dollar that our
membership contributes to this year’s campaign, up to a predetermined
maximum amount.

The Career Expo provides an opportunity to meet face to face with

  • 12. Student Outreach MBA Connects Connects seasoned professionals with area MBA students. The goal is to develop mentoring relationships where MBA students will obtain valuable career advice from professionals looking to lend their business expertise Scholarship Program In 2011, Student Outreach provided 12 scholarships for LOT, undergraduate and graduate students in partnership with George Washington University and Capital One Scholarship & Awards Gala Provides an opportunity to recognize our scholarship recipients, LOT students, corporate partners, and members that have demonstrated unyielding support to the chapter throughout the year. 12
  • 13. Wealth Building Series (WBS) The Wealth Building Series (WBS) is a comprehensive set of workshops designed to strengthen the economic and intellectual wealth of the Chapter’s community. They also provide the ideal opportunity to meet face to face with talented MBA professionals seeking career opportunities with your company. Workplace Speaker Series • Brings speakers and subject matter experts onsite to meet and speak with employees at all levels within the organization. • Allows corporate partners to address the needs and challenges of maintaining a diverse workforce through our established relationships and networks of renowned speakers and presenters at a reduced rate. 17

East Region Retreat • Leadership development training for Chapters in the NBMBAA East Region. • The 2012 East Region Retreat will be held in Washington, D.C. in November 2012. • Approximately 50 attendees and members of NBMBAA HQ Staff are scheduled to attend. • The 2011 Retreat was held in Atlantic City, NJ. Our partners were State Farm and PNC Bank. 18

Community Consulting Clinic Community Consulting Clinic (CCC) provides consulting services to current or aspiring entrepreneurs whose level of financial resources makes it difficult to solicit professional business advice. CCC supports 2-4 member consulting teams that assist entrepreneurs. Over a 3 month period, CCC consulting teams meet with an assigned entrepreneur and assist in implementing business ideas. Services offered by CCC teams may include but are not limited to:  Market surveys  Budgeting/accounting advice  Advertising strategy  IT evaluation 20

Entrepreneur’s Showcase • Provides local entrepreneurs: – A platform to promote products and services – Opportunity to build relationships with other vendors • As a partner, you will receive: – Access to future business partners – Recognition as sponsor on event correspondence – Table at event to distribute company information – Opportunity to make opening and closing remarks 21

  • 24. Strokes FORE Scholarships Strokes FORE Scholarships is our annual golf event that supports the scholarship program for our Leaders of Tomorrow, undergraduate and graduate students. Annual Giving Campaign Overview The Annual Giving Campaign was created to increase funds in support of professional development programs for the general membership and for the Leaders of Tomorrow high school mentorship program. The Campaign provides Chapter members and supporters a venue to make tax deductible contribution to the organization. Matching Contributions As a partner of the Annual Giving Campaign, your organization would provide a matching contribution to the campaign for each dollar that our membership contributes to this year’s campaign, up to a predetermined maximum amount. 25
