IIM Kashipur commenced operations from July 2011 under the mentorship of IIM Lucknow. The
institute offers Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM), a two year full time residential
programme.

2. According to the MBAUniverse.com survey data, IIM Kashipur has a total number of 131 seats. The
number of permanent and visiting faculty at IIM Kashipur is 12 and 21 respectively. Total Fees for
2013-15 batch at IIM Kashipur was Rs.6.38 lakhs while average placement 2013 was Rs. 10.12 lakhs
Analysis of IIM Kashipur admission criteria and selection process 2014-16:
The admission criteria at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur have been developed for
identifying the right candidates for admission to its Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management.
The process that is being adopted for selecting the students for PGP at IIM Kashipur for the academic
year 2014-16 involves two stages:
Stage 1 applies to all eligible candidates who have appeared for Common Admission Test-CAT – 2013
and have applied for admission to IIM Kashipur.
Stage 2 applies to shortlisted candidates from Stage 1.
Sufficient numbers of candidates belonging to different categories are shortlisted in Stage 1 for
meeting the Government of India norms on reservation.
Minimum Cut-offs to be used for selecting eligible candidates for WAT and PI
Candidates in each category securing the above percentile in CAT 2013 will be considered for
calculation of their composite score in Stage 2.
Stage 2: Generation of Merit List
Stage 2b: The following weights will be assigned to various components for generating merit list
All the candidates shortlisted according to the minimum cutoffs in Table 1 will be provided weights as
per different parameters including prior academic records, Diversity factors and work experience for
generating merit list for calling candidates for GDPI.
Grand Total (C) = WAT &PI Total (2a) + Shortlist Total (2b). The Grand Total (C) will be used to rank
students according to their merit.
Reservation Policy
IIM Kashipur will follow the Government of India policy on reservations for Schedule Caste (SC),
Schedule Tribes (ST), Non-Creamy Other Backward Class (NC-OBC) and PWD (Person with Disability).
