Need answers for all of these three questions!
ur textbook, notes, lecture slides, and any other resources needed to answer the following
questions fro z is due on Thursday, June 21 at 11:59 PM. No late credit will be assigned. ??1 1 2
Which of the following is/are equal once equilibrium is established? O the concentrations of
reactant and products O the rates of the forward and reverse reactions the time that a particular
atom or molecule spends as a reactant and product the rate constants of the forward and reverse
reactions
Solution
1) At equilibrium the rate of forward reaction becomes equal to rate of backward reaction,
such that, a rapid interconversion of reactant to product and back to product takes place and it
assumes that no reaction is going on.
5) SInce equilibrium constant is a ratio between molar concentration of product to reactant,
(product being in the numerator), equilibrium constant that favors product has K >>>1
6) According to Lechateliers principle, when the concentration of reactant increases the
equilibrium shifts to the direction where it can consume the added reactant i.e.- towards right
(shifts towards product)

  • 1. Need answers for all of these three questions! ur textbook, notes, lecture slides, and any other resources needed to answer the following questions fro z is due on Thursday, June 21 at 11:59 PM. No late credit will be assigned. ??1 1 2 Which of the following is/are equal once equilibrium is established? O the concentrations of reactant and products O the rates of the forward and reverse reactions the time that a particular atom or molecule spends as a reactant and product the rate constants of the forward and reverse reactions Solution 1) At equilibrium the rate of forward reaction becomes equal to rate of backward reaction, such that, a rapid interconversion of reactant to product and back to product takes place and it assumes that no reaction is going on. 5) SInce equilibrium constant is a ratio between molar concentration of product to reactant, (product being in the numerator), equilibrium constant that favors product has K >>>1 6) According to Lechateliers principle, when the concentration of reactant increases the equilibrium shifts to the direction where it can consume the added reactant i.e.- towards right (shifts towards product)
