projectsoverthe yearsto reduce downtime andincrease productionforalarge varietyof
manufacturingbusinessesandthe one questionthatisalwaysaskedis“whatwill itcost?”Thisis an
understandableandexpectedquestiontocome frommanagersanddirectorsalike butwhatI often
ask themishowmuch productdoesyour businessproduce perhourandhow much moneydoesthe
businessmake perhour?Thencalculate the amountof defectiveproductandthe amountof
downtime perdayor perweek.Withall these figuresyoucanthencalculate yourreturnon

upgradesor improvements.
